K850 Firmware Overview |

At this current point in time, there are NO available firmwares whatsoever for the K850 on EMMA, which means they're updating. Only available is the customization activation file.
To all you other naysayers and haters,
Do you really think I like NOT telling everything? I would love to show screenshots and alike of new stuff months before it's out, but I can't. The firmware version I hinted about several weeks ago (R3) was on EMMA in testing at that time, only available for up-class users.
Also - I don't contribute with anything here, I don't know squat about things and I have never proven to be an insider? Check out my posts during this last week or so - I believe I leaked 3/4 phones, and even before that I revealed how the new operating systems work. Furthermore, there are people who can keep their mouth shut, who have seen things you wouldn't even dare to dream of.
Predicting when a firmware is ready, merely based on small informations and its progress on EMMA is really hard. There can always come unexpected problems, and there are no descriptions regarding the firmwares. What you've seen on new A200 phones is what the K850 will end up being like.
Also, I know this is off-topic, but lots of people said I wouldn't be missed or anything. Judging on the replies and the numerous PM's I've received, I dare to say otherwise. I would have left if it wasn't for them telling me to leave a stupid noob on his own.
Check your facts dude.

Anyone else notice that SEUS now says "A2" when identifying the phone?
Yes I noticed that too, but it says K850 and K858 when you select the model of phone you have initally. |

I'm sure why but of the handful of threads I regularly visit on here this one is the only one that so amazingly negative about . I own a K850. I'm not impressed with the firmware but isn't it obvious that they've been spending a lot of time and money on the development and launch of the X1 and the other new phones? I can see exactly why this firmware has been delayed and that's because the X1 is a superb piece of design and engineering on it's own. I think that phone is one of the best I've ever seen. If sex had brushed metal buttons and a touch screeen.... Anyway, to me it is clear that the K850 was a stop gap between the old SE and the new SE. I'm sorry but in all industries and all companies they'll occasionally throw you a lemon. It happens and it is the necessary evil in progression. Unfortunately for us, we bought it.
I'm sure will release the firmware and I'm certain it won't be long away. Be patient. Stop moaning. Get laid. We all know the problems, we're all a little disappointed, but at the end of the day it's a f...... phone.

Mizzle, thanks for the info, hope this means new firmware soon. I assume it's for generic handsets, I'm on Orange UK so am expecting to wait a while longer.
Anyway, fingers crossed... |

@timboob
ALL firmwares disappeared. So I'm guessing it's regarding all versions.

@ Mizzle, what should "operator acceptance" mean? It is for branded phones only? |

This was in fact the firmware of W760 (when it wasn't announced), and this firmware revision was still in operator testing. Anyhow, as you can see with the number of phones, the base is the exact same, and this proves there was an R3 firmware (at least for testing).

My sincere apologies Mizzle. All our frustrations should be aimed purely at Sony Ericsson. You just kinda got caught in the crossfire. |
