Oh, and one question... In the UK I am using Orange, and I was wondering if I could have 3g services through Orange when I come back to the UK. I also roam though T-Mobile using my Greek number. So can anyone tell me if I will be able to use the phone at is was meant to be in the UK?
I just want a simple phone... with 32bit color touch screen, video recording 640x480, 5 Megapixel camera, integrated TV/FM tuner, GPS system, and that shouldnt be heavier than 90g and should easily fit in my pocket... |

Hi, cant remember what magazine i read it in. in the phone shop i work in we get magazines delivered quite often! well it was only a small article called z1010 to hit the shelves soon. in it, it said the magazine were speakin to some top man at vodafone (some executive) and he said that vodafone were going to launch 2 3g phones over the next 2 months (although it also says about its 3g services not going to be operational until xmas) it said that the z1010 would follow the 1st 3g phone by around 2 weeks.
Hope that helps! and no one has yet answered my question about the k700 compared to the z1010!! |

i think i would probably go for the k700
but the z1010 still may be quite cheap so i am still deciding whether to sell my p800 but i cant wait to have a go on them!

yup that was the article i read! well you see the thing is i've had the t68i, the t610 and have used the t630 and dont really find it all that different from the t610. so i'm wondering whether to go for the k700 and have the same sort of styled phone with by the looks of things a very similar menu system (but the added radio does look good!) OR i could go for the z1010.. i dont see the phone being expensive at all in the uk... the 3 network here needs new connections badly so it may even be free!! and the z1010 does have the 'flip' style but then again how big is this phone exactly going to be!? and how much more delayed! the shop i work in says that the k700 will be out with us on june 30th.. but the vodafone guy this morning showed me his system which said june 24th! just over a week away by the looks of things! |

Just to add to all that has been said so far regarding the release of the phone on 3 in the UK.
From my source, the phone has finally been approved. The one I had a play with had a 3 theme, including wallpaper and animated screensaver. 3 are now in their pre-launch logistics stage which involves getting all the relevant literature together etc. 3 don't use the standard manual they go for a special one which is tailored for them. This is adding to the delay. This logisitcs phase will mean the phone will take 2-3 weeks to arrive in shops, eventhough it was approved for release to shops last Friday 11-06-04. So the betting is on the end of June/beginning of July. I guess it will be the beginning of July with a new offer for new users. Though they may extend the free texting offer beyond 30 June 2004, but knowing 3 they will want to start the month with a new phone, so I would hold off until Monday 5 July, otherwise go for the K700 which should have been released by then. |

I've been through all the pages, but haven't neraly found where it's really available and the price ?
I just got offered 3g beta in france by SFR (Vodafone) but they deliver the poor samsung Z105 with no bt nor irda which is crucial to me.
Thx for any tips you may have, or interent shops links

@ all...
Do you guy think SE will come up with a triband version of the Z1010 (GSM 900/1800/1900)? I'm in love with the Z1010, but wouldnt be able to use it here in Canada...
refer to this thread about this question...

I can't find this icon in the manual.
Looks like three waves. Maybe shows 3G-coverage? |

Yep, that is the 3G symbol.
I was wondering about that also when I got this z1010, until I saw that in the net list the 3G operators have the same symbol... |
