Anyone else notice that SEUS now says "A2" when identifying the phone?

However this is the first Official reference to the K850a that I have seen anywhere, so that means that AT&T will be getting their crippled phone after all.

I demand it to work, maybe with some minor glitches, as specified! They have taken too much time to fix this and that's the real issue here.

Neither did I (I didnt actually buy it or renew my subscription to get mine but thats something else). Besides making phone calls and sending messages. I got it for the improved camera, MMS, music etc. Just like what I bought my K800, K810, P1 and S500 for.
Microshaft are still releasing fixes for XP as well as for Vista. Saying that a developer should release 100% perfect everytime is not possible as there will always be someone out there with a complaint.
You cant please everyone all of the time.
Some fixes could produce problems elsewhere in the programming. If an update came out that fixed one thing but caused a problem elsewhere. People would complain again. Its like a never ending circle.
Personally. I'd prefer to have identified as many problems as possible and have them rectified before releasing the next update.Even if it does take them longer than expected. The reduction in sales will make the big wigs push a bit harder to get the product right so they can recoup the money that has been spent in R&D.

I have a K850 as well and I'm also somewhat dissappointed with how the phone works. But hey, it makes calls and sends texts which is the basis of a phone. All the extra is added on. We all had a choice when we handed over our money/signed into another lenghty network subscription.

WTF man are you serious???

I can get you a phone that calls and sends text messages for 1€.
The k850i isn't suppose to be that. It's suppose to be a high end multifunction device. A great mobile phone, a great web surfer, a great camera, a great camcorder, a great picture and video player, a great bussines phone etc. And we all didn't pay a huge amount of money to NOT GET all of this.

Personally, I had to make a 2 year contract to vodafone + 370€ and I expect nothing but perfection. Instead I get semi-functional phone with a battery life that's no more than half the specified. And than they say the new FW will fix the problems, and it shows to be an empty promise. So I've got all the right to be pissed! And so do most of the other k850i owners.

Oppps some editing:

Yes well, but i don't think the many, or rather large, bugs in theese K850 firmwares are something that one just should care to be bothered about. I know that there will allways be bug but this is too much and they are taking too long to fix it AND gives us confusing info abut the firmware releases.

Don't get me wrong- i would love the K850 to pieces if it would do what it is suppose to do! I turned my back on SE when they started making the camera part worse on their W-models because i wanted a phone with a good cam and the walkmanplayer..well here it is! But it has not been released in its ful glory and that's a damn shame! So i'm inpatient now and angry but still holding on.

Rookwise > your point about MS products needing patching is completely irrelevant to this discussion. MS products perform at least 90% of their advertised functionality without a need for an update/patch. Also - MS releases patches EVERY month to stay on top of threats and as they discover weaknesses.

On the flip side - SE's phone is rather Crippled in at least TWO of its MAIN functions - Flash Photography of close subjects and Audio Playback with appropriate equalizer.

This phone's main functions are:

Phone
Camera
MP3 player

That's 2 functions that are not 100% which makes the overall functionality (as advertised) to be less than 70% IMO...

Hi Everyone!
I was just woundering what benefits I get from debranding my phone from 3(sweden), cause I'm honesly not using anything from 3 like msn, skype etc.

The only thing I'm using is the planet3, for checking my3.

And I can access that easily without having the 3brand right, i mean for free, like now.

I don't see a reason to keep it having branded, cause it feels much slower and more stupid.

Please answer.

Thank you.

From having a read on the SE developer site forums. It seems that its something to do with the JP-8 software thats causing a few problems.Maybe this is proving a problem fix for the developers and maybe a reason for it taking so long.It does seem though that the small fixes are being released for network branded handsets and the major one will be released for the sim free ones. Just a guess here.

I suspect an update this week or next week.

the US version is supposed to be shipping this week. they usually do not release a US version of a phone without major fixes.
