Just realised that some missed calls are NOT shown on the Call List. Some highlights are even blank. It's on R1GB. Don't know on R1JC.
BTW, I begin worrying my old EROM R3A011, as a mate's phone was dead last week when he changed SIM Card. Can't imagine how my days will be if my K800i had to be sent to SESC for a fix. Hope not.

Strange thing just happened on my K800i. I downloaded the SMS tone from this thread and tried to bluetooth it to my phone from my PC and it kept saying cancelled on the phone and the PC would say "not enough storage memory". I renamed the file to Gears_sms.mp3 and it sent ok.

Anyone else wanna try sending that file to their phone with its default filename and see what happens?

Have you tried connecting to Wotan European FTP? I have no Wotan credit, neither do my friends..really want to test but no Euro left. LOL.

Still can't run wotan client. The europe ftp close connection after a while crashing it. I think my ISP connection is different to telkom connection to wotan ftp.

Well with Kulan client ( http://www.kulankendi.com ) you can update from CID49 to CID 51 with ony 1 credit. You just need to read the instruction carefully ( http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=369693 ) . Just load the CID51 firmware and choose finalize option. It will first ask you to update EROM CID then it will restart automatically and flash firmware and finalize. If it can't restart automatically just restart manually (took batt out for few mins and replug). You got 24hr between the two operation (automatic update EROM CID and finalizing) in order to use only 1 credit.
However new firmware R1JC may not be available yet at kulan.

EDIT: Make sure you got EROM R3A016. Update it first, if you got older EROM, while you still got CID49 EROM.

Well if it happen after updating firmware then it is problem of corrupt firmware. A complete reflash should fix it. You may try master reset first. If still not working then flash again with SEUS. After that you may try third party solution (kulan, wotan, DVT). And the last resort (if all not working) is give it back to SE authorised service centre.

Note: There is difference between flash with SEUS and third party. Using SEUS usually you keep your setting, apps, games, and contact because SEUS has manage to do part update of firmware. So, if you have corrupt firmware then it may not fixed by reflashing via SEUS (if it does not rewrite part of the firmware that is corrupted). Third party usually do more complete rewrite of firmware so that all your setting/contact, apps/games will be gone. However, if the damage is your GDFS then the only one who can fixed this is SE authorised service centre.

Also, the k800i is on the way out. No need to wish and hope for more firmware upgrades. It is an old phone.

Now, if SE stop firmware update after R1JC release then OK. At least no major bugs after they fixed the high bitrate video preview problem. Hopefully the new Java also fixed problem I encounter as well.

However as long as SE keeps producing new DB2020 phones then we may see upgrades after all. Seems that all DB2020 phones has same firmware level (R1JC is available on all DB2020 phones).

On the other hand I do owe an apology to SE. I managed to update my S700 with FAR manager to R3M firmware (change language to HGK) and the connection with my HBH-660 is solid now. So it is older S700 firmware problem all along. Can't find the old post between you and me again so I guess I posted it here anyway.

Edit: in fact it is too solid now and always connect with HBH-660 and drain the batt faster . Well, it's better this way than with older firmware which only works for first few minutes.

That (DSS-25) should work with SEUS. With FAR Manager I use cruizer cable as I don't have DSS-25. I try cruizer with SEUS but seems SEUS knows that it is not DSS-25 and reject it.

browsing pictures seem alot faster for me in latest firmware, expecially when the photo are moved in the pitures folder. If you browse pictures in in the pictures folder in older firmware it is alot slower than before.

Just realised in the update service menu the firmware under software version is dated 070122 CXC1250210 RJC002

Just updated to R1JC002 via Wotan Server--for the 1st time in my K800i history. Thanks to my girlfriend studying in UK for her PayPal account and free 1 credit...LOL. Updated via EUROPEAN FTP. As mine is EROM CID 51 R3A011, the old but new EROM, Wotan can do nothing to upgrade the EROM. Here are my early findings:

-BUG FIX: In previous R1ED and R1GB, some default mp3 message alerts of original SE Fun&Downloads namely Jangler, Pulse and Alien Noise were NOT able to playback. Now, they are PLAYABLE without problems at all. Excellent! It means, R1JC002 has more capabilities dealing with various mp3 encodings.

-For K800i with APAC CDA, besides English and Chinese T9, it is now preinstalled with Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian language) T9 in phone writing language. It's a great improvement! No such an Indonesian T9 in all previous firmwares.

-When accessing specific operator number involving * and # for instance *888# to access the remaining credit for my local Telkomsel operator, the display shown is DIFFERENT. It used to be displayed in pop up with bigger letter size; it is now in a square window with transparent background. The letters are smaller. This new interface is the same as the one you find on Notes.

- No delay in accessing internet key button. It's instant, unlike SEUS-updated one.

- I find out these new stuffs under Divert Calls, namely : Video Calls and Data Calls. However, I just don't remember whether they are already there in older firmwares. Please, others verify. Perhaps, my memory again.

- I have 1E0W under my Customisation of the phone firmware details. I was worried it affects the phone ability to be updated via SEUS later on. What I guess this 1E0W is a special mark for a phone updated via 3rd party, not SEMC. It might show error, well, I simply don't know. Thanks God it doesn't matter. SEUS accepts my phone and says a new update available. It's normal as SEUS still has R1GB as the latest ATM and thinks that R1JC is an older one, which isn't for real. Later, when R1JC is out via SEUS, surely it says Update not needed, Continue anyway? What a relief...

-Go to Write New-Text Message-More-Add item- animation. Yes, the animation icons there are totally DIFFERENT from SE firmwares I've ever had. Those comical characters are far more alive and colorful in this version. In SEMC/SEUS version, the character is ONLY made blue, but not in Wotan. There are black, grey and other colors. I prefer this one. It's true then that Wotan modifies a bit.

- date of f/w is shown as 070122, and yes it has the updated Java ver. 7.3, BT text revision and updated content version.

- In this JP. 7.3 version, all Java applications requiring internet connection, like Opera Mini, run more smoothly in terms of reaching to internet connection. As you click any link, Opera instantly shows the blue globe icon on the right top of the screen and download the page you want. I do believe that it depends variably on your own operator bandwidth, but as a very heavy user of Opera Mini, I know for sure there is a significant difference in this updated Java version. In conclusion, the speed to get connected to internet in internet-based Java applications improves.

- As I have no high bitrate nor big-sized video files on my phone, I can say nothing whether there is a crash or not.

- In older R1GB, animated .gif wallpapers, when they are set as standby wallpaper, used to lag compared to their being seen in the Picture folder. Some said it was a decreased frame rate. Now, the lag is NO longer present in R1JC. What is displayed in picture folder is the same as it is used in standby.
NOTE:
However, when you minimise Media Player and let the music play as background while you are doing anything else, notice that the animated standby wallpaper will STOP animate when you press the volume key to turn up/ down the volume or when the phone shows MP3 tag on the top of the screen. As they disappear, the animated wallpaper is back to normal. It may be present in older f/w, I just realised it just now.

- Have been navigating here and there, and up to now, I don't encounter the R29:XXXX menu title anymore. I just haven't come across to it, perhaps? Also, not even a single crash so far..no white screen..as usual.

- the navigation is faster? Hm, can't say about it. Mine is always fast, no delay..as usual. The best phone..

- Also, I haven't encountered missing green balls volume indicator bug so far. Anyway, since it is intermittent, I may be just lucky up to now.

- PROBLEM:
Play some video files through video player, it can be either in landscape or portrait mode. What I remember in previous f/ws, all video files were played in sequence, continuously--and the screen was never OFF, right? But now in R1JC, this continuous playing of video files, from one file to another, is INTERRUPTED by the screen goes to BLANK/ BLACK/ SLEEP mode. I have been trying to get the pattern of this 'going to sleep/blank screen', but I just can't find it. It NEVER turns into a sleep mode in the middle of playing a video file though, which is good. As a video file ends, the screen is blank, and the next video is played, but you CAN'T see the visualization at all as the screen is all black! You just hear the sound! Then, press any key, the screen will instantly wake up!
I thought it is after 1 minute that the screen goes blank, but no. I thought it is after a file, but no. The pattern is random, if I may say. It can be after 3 video files, 2 or even after 1 file. Just haven't found the exact pattern. Please others verify.

I have the same issue (missed calls, placed calls, received calls go missing from the list), and it only happened after an upgrade to R1GB. And the bug where the phone turns off the display even when you are using it is still there. Usually happens when typing an sms, the display just turns black. You must hit the back key to wake it. This is happening on both my K800 and K610 with R1GB (and the SUES version prior to this one).

I have to say, so far, the firmware on the k800 is probably the worst for critical bugs in all the SE phones I've had.

Hey you can try this http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=138097&start=15 (last post) when it happen. Instead of opening the phone and shorting int batt (as reported by others). I don't really know which connector (in the phone body inside batt compartement that connect to batt) to short, but you can try to short them (3) all.

All, NEVER SHORT THE BATT ITSELF, (@aremaboy: otherwise detasemen88 can come to you, LOL )

Haha..detasemen 88 and their jihandak..can't imagine that the phone will blow up..)
I do hope that my old EROM stay 'cool' and behaves normal. I have no courage to short anything inside. I'll electrocute myself I'm afraid. But, thanks for the info.
