Hm, just tried that but nothing here! I set both MMS and SMS to 1 hour! Did you only set MMS perhaps? Under 'Messaging' is MMS, eMail and SMS. No gain in RAM whatsoever with my phone.

(Emphasis is mine.) Seems pointless. AFAIK, storage and RAM are completely separate. Surely programmers wouldn't keep old mesages in precious RAM! In any case, which setting do you mean? Control panel > Messaging > SMS account.? shows  . The equivalent MMS help text is similar.

I don't see why this should increase the RAM, this concerns messages on the server.

I have a question here. I upgraded to the newest firmware on SEUS this am but the the phone doesnt turn on for some reason. Is there a way to format the internal disk without turning the phone on?
When you turn it on the regular way, the phone give a flash of white light then goes into a grey shade.
Appreciate the help.

Well, if the phone doesnt turn on then nothing can be done. Try taking battery out and back in... try reflashing. Hopefully that will work.

Done all that, when I reflash it says its allready up to date. Is there any way to force it to take the flash still? |

Yes.
When it asks you if you should continue even if the phone is flashed with latest software just say ... continue.
it will re flash your phone with the same software. |

No such luck. It just says that it has the latest software installled.

Is there an alternative method to get the software onto the phone? It looks to me like it didnt take all of the upgrade even though it keeps telling me that it did.

After you get the message that you have the latest fw, don't you see an option to reflash anyway?
Also, delete the update file that is downloaded to your PC, if that file is corrupted than it doesn't matter how many times you reflash, you'll still get the error. You need to download the complete fw from SEUS and reflash that to your P990.

No option to reflash anyway, SEUS is stubborn. I rmeoved the update software and reinstalled. Still same thing. |
