i have a t65 which had r3b firmware and it was a real pain. it hanged from time to time, lost net connection, and had some sim card problems.

yesterday i upgraded to r5a (upgrade in sonyericsson official centers is free) and everything works fine. the speed of the software has also been improved. the game "game" no longer exists and only biorythms, emaze and tetris remain (the upgrade removed my tetris records!).

there are some t9 improvements but since i always use the traditional way of typing, i have noticed a change in the multitap system. in r3b it was great: p.e. i pressed one time the "2" key to write an "a" and instead of waiting a second to write another "a" or a "b", i pressed "down" in the directional key and it was much faster. now with pressing "down" it's like going to the next key, in this case "3", so a "d" appears. it's crazy! also, pressing "left" or "right" is no more going to the next or previous character IN THE WRITTEN TEXT but IN THE CURRENT KEY. thus if i press "2" and then "right", a "b" would appear. i don't know if theese things are a bug, what is your case, r5a users?

there is another annoying thing that was also present in r3b, and is the fact that when sending an email, there is no f*cking way to access the contacts to select a saved email address. like in almost any other writting screen, the "contacts" icon appears on the top left corner indicating that i can press the blue key to access the contacts, but in email sending this doesn't work. i've had 3 t65's and 4 different firmware versions and it was always the same pity.

only servicepoints have access to the flash equipment... you'll need a servicecard a cardreader and a hardlock... the servicecard and the hardlock can only be purchased by servicepoints...
As far as I know there aren't many people around here on Esato that has access to theese kind of things.... I'm one of them, but I'm not gonna sell anything...

I have R5A010 sw, and:

- the tapping system sucks and you can't type fast enough as for typing letters on the same button you must wait for a short time, because if you press any directional key you'll just modify last written character

- also WAP-downloaded or PC-uploaded (through USB cable) tones play too fast, but using composer the problem is solved

Any idea for tapping system?

PS: in the manual there was shown a solution, but it requires both hands and it's not the most confortable one:

Say that you want to write 'abc' sequence. You press '1', then keep 'volume up' key pressed and again press '1', and last 'volume down' key and '1'. All with no delay/break.
So keeping 'volume up/down' when pressing a key gets you second/third char on that key.
Of course you could wonder how the hell you wolul write 'aaa', no breaks. Try '1', keep 'vol up' and press '1', release 'vol up' and press 'left', keep 'vol up' and press '1', release 'vol up' and press 'left'.
Or I guess you could buy a chatboard that allows you to write as fast as you want using just one finger (using more than one finger will cause it to overflow and drop letters).
