"I can't get the callers' pic on the external screen while calling. Is it normal? Can the z800 firmware do that? "
Callers ID on a normal V800 is not supported. Once flashed to Z800 pics id is
So yes, Z800 firmware can do that

@sapporobaby
I debranded my V800 to a Z800 using TotalMultiServer and a T28 Service Cable. So no problems with MP3 as ringtones or showing external callid picture.
I'm very satisfied with this phone. There is enough internal memory for java, contacts etc. All the rest fits nicely on MS Pro Duos... It's "relatively" light and slim, considering it's features. Live-TV is cool...
Battery life improved with Z800 firmware and camera seems better, too. But I think the cam is not as good as the S700's. |

@Kimi,
Stay close by, I may need help later. My daughter will bring my v800 in a few days when she comes from Germany.
Will upgrade mine as well to z800. Now the hard question:
WHich would you use as your everyday phone? The s700i or the z/v800? I have a k700i, z1010, s700, and soon to be z/v800. The z1010 and k700i now just sit on charge most of the time. I put a card in every now and then to run them and then back to the s700i. Your opinion please:)

As far as I know, you can`t use your docking station!
Guess you have to use a service cable for that. |

It depends, I think, on the debranding server/software that you are using. Not the files, but the actual application.

I think Davinci uses the cradle, Setool uses USF Twister box and TMS uses T28 service cable. TMS is the best right now because T28 cable is very cheap. |

Humm feel dissapointed. Bought credits for TMS. |They claim to be able to unlock and flash every v800i version out there. And guess what they cant. Apparently they arent able to crack a CID36 phone. So that means im left with a vodacrapped phone for @ least another month.

CID (Customer ID) does not depend on country.
All SEMC phones made after a certain date (i forget when) are CID36 phones. TMS / Davinci shouldnt have a big problem as they use direct connection with EMMA. So i am sure these phones will be supported soon. |
