The fact that it's not tri-band and wont fit comfortably into my trouser pocket would rule it out of my reckoning straight away.

Horses for courses I say.

Oh and does carrying it around give you backache?

only negative points are that the battery life sucks....i charge it everyday but i do use it 12 hours a day,i send about 30 mms messages a day i use 20 minutes of camera then 20 minutes of GPRS,plus sms and phone calls well,i really USE my 7650,Bluetooth works great, ive paired it with my ex-T68i (i have sold it now ),i sent all my ?T68i phonebook via infrared,i couldnt use the hbh-15 with the 7650 because you have to pair the damn things and 7650 doesnt have a pairing opotion,i went and bought a 1000m/ah battery that should increase battery life, the factory batterys are 700 m/ah ,and well ive got dust under the screen already...kind of reminds me of my T68 days....apart from that the 7650 is great, the size is the same and a little bit smaller than the P800 so if the 7650 size bothers you then you are not wanting to get the P800..oh and something else i wish the 7650 was tri-band!!!!

I will add to this debate, I own 2 T68i and a 7650, and they are both great but very different phones.

I use the T68 for work and it is very practical in size and features and is a great business phone, (lets be honest how many time do you use the camera at work?). Most! of the features work well and the GPRS featire is stable and reliable (well on UK Voda) and I get my email regularly on it.

The 7650 on the other hand is a little bulky for day to day business use and the limited battery and lack of fully integrated car kit ( i know the bluetooth kit is coming) make it less appealing for business.

To compare the 7650 and the forthcoming P800 from SE is a little unfair, I got the 7650 for UK £199.00 with a contract from Vodafone (UK £225 O2), but the contract price for the P800 is UK £499.00 comfirmed by Voda and O2!!!, thats a HUGE price differential and for another UK £300.00 it better be significantly better!!!

Who confirmed the price of the p800 for you at Vodafone???

I'd be interested as it's not even been put through Terminals Management yet for approval. Only prototypes have been tested.

Besides, if you just want a phone with a good screen and a built-in camera then the Panasonic GD-87 will be much better (based on Japanese 3g phone hardware).

Hey John,

Congrats on the phone. Not to spoil the fun in any way, just wanted to know how the phone is treatin' you. My friend also bought one a few months ago and he's wanted to say that the battery life is quite short, especially if you play with the camera alot and he misses the "Wallpaper" and "Themes" option from his T68m. What about you?

You charge the 7650 everyday??!?!?!? WOW! The last time I had a phone that I had to charge everyday was a.... well, a Nokia! HAHAHA!

And yes, the 7650 does NOT work with ANY Bluetooth headset... even Nokia's.

Agreed, I'm still thinking I need to charge my T68i and T39m everyday, but I don't need too.

Charging it everyday is no hassle, but I would prefer having a phone that can last all week on standby without charging (like my T68i/T39), because you never know when you might need that extra juice.

try sending 50-60 mms messages a day, using the camera for at least 10 minutes, talking 30 minutes sending sms messages and using GPRS!!!My ex-T68 with the same usage needed every 2 days a charge, note that the more colors on a screen tend to drain the battery quick,im just waiting for the P800 and it looks like im gonna hit it!

It's true that the standy by times on phones are getting harder and harder to quantify. The more a phone does, the more battery it will drain. So saying a T68 will last on standby for 14 days is kind of silly, because you can't do much with it. And a semi pda device with a camera like the 7650, well standby time is going to vary.
I use my T39 for a lot of GPRS wap browsing, my gf uses hers hardly at all for that. So I am often charging my phone (about every 3 or 4 days) and she leaves it for well over a week.

By the way, just had a play with a 7650 in a store this afternoon. I was rather impressed. It's not as big as I had expected, and has a quality look and feel about it. Still want to see the P800 though...
