A short revue of 7650.

The best part is that it doesn't "loose" connection to the network, no missed calls/sms, no "sos calls only". Another real great thing is that it sends data over gprs with two timeslots (3+1 or 2+2). It took me just 30sec to send three hi res photos and a long mail, that's very good.
You can receive attachments in mails, which is really good.
The phonebook is outstanding, 9 different phone numbers, 3 mail addresses, 3 faxes, 3 address fields, extra notes, birthday field, for each contact.
The memory is quite enough, although it could be bigger. The screen is good, colors great, it doesn't feel small in use. The camera is fun, not comparable to a real digicam though.
The phone is real fast in it's response, and it doesn't sag or stop to think... So far I haven't found any bugs in it, and it performs like it's supposed to.
In the menu, you can rearrange all the folders, show them as a list or icons, add own folders and delete existing, you can change the two "hotkeys" to any shortcut, the joystick is much firmer than in t68 but takes a bit of getting used to.
The size and weight is not a problem, it fits fine in any pocket.
The battery life could be better, but with very frequent use of all features it lasts the whole day. As a remark, I charged my t68 every night too.
The thing I miss in it is the themes, you only have 3 predefined ones to choose from (red, blue and green). I also miss that I can't have the phone scanning for new mails.
But as a conclusion, it's a real great piece of high tech. You can't compare a t68 to it, but if you "have to", the 7650 wins in just about everything, (No, I don't work for Nokia, and yes I still have my t68mi) 7650 just has a lot more features than the t68. It's just a question of what you need.

"You can't compare a t68 to it, but if you "have to", the 7650 wins in just about everything" - except size of course.

i think we've established it's not comparable to the T68, anyone doing so must be a little off centre - there are other posts comparing to the P800 which is more fitting.

Yea, that's why I said "just about everything", and that you really can't compare it to a t68. And you can't compare it to a P800 either, not before there actually is a P800 to compare it with

But on paper, the P800 looks good, except the color

Super, I meant it as an answer to decoy7

But it is great, and if the P800 is even better, I guess I have to buy that one too

Of course the 7650 can't scan for new emails, it wasn't designed to do that! And you need huge pockets, too.

Had a quick play with a 7650 over the weekend - it looks a little dated in the flesh (the keypad is totally lacking in any sort of design at all) but the software's excellent. The first thing you notice is that there's absolutely no delay at all when navigating around (unlike the T68). The interface is very intuitive, and the camera seems to work very well. Definitely a new generation of phone, just a shame it doesn't look a tiny bit better. I'll definitely be getting one - I've never been happy with the Ericsson interface - I guess it's the old PC/Mac thing! The only thing that suggests to me that the Nokia interface is better is that I had an Ericsson first - usually you get used to the first interface you use.

as isaid the size is the only real drawback, not that it bothers me at all but overall its the number 1 phone at the moment until the P800 hits the market,COLORED JAVA games really kick ass.pac man, frogger, etc etc, memory is very satisfying, writing sms,e-mails is a piece of cake and really FAST!!!!if you dont mind the weight and size then this phone is a must

Bit expensive though in the UK, £300 upwards on a new contract. May wait for the P800 to come out.
