Odd k700 screen behaviour |

Ok, I finally did the master reset on my K700i and the light stopped coming on randomly. This really sucks though cause now I have to go back and input all the settings manually.
If anyone can do the same thing and confirm that this really works, that would be great!
Thanks |

I have the same problem & initially I thought it was wierd. At work I hardly get any reception, but out of the blues I would get it for a few seconds and a few minutes if I am lucky. I noticed that every time the screen flashed, I had reception and So, I assume this happens only when the phone regains reception. |

I dont think its a bug either, Perhaps they designed it like that to inform the user that he just got his reception back & I think thats a good thing! |

Like I said yesterday, after doing the master reset the phone as acting normally. So I guess that did it!

I think its because the phone has a reception. When i travel around the city, it comes to the standby screen from screensaver-probably due to changing of cells. The same happened when i in to the country side. The screen gets activated when there is a network.

Sorry for taking so long, but I wanted to make sure that the master reset failed for good. Ok I did the master reset and it was fine for a while. Interestingly as soon as I set the settings for WAP and email it started doing it again. I know it is harmless but it's very anoying, specially since I always think a call is coming though. Don't know what else to do, the next thing that i'll do is record the behaivor and either post it here or send it to se tech support. |

I think its a normal phenomenon with SE phones. I'm saying this 'cause its not only the K700 which shows this "problem".

New unlocked/branded K700i using on T-Mobile USA firmware R2AY004,
I have the light setting at "Automatic" so the clock comes on.
I have the problem too with it "coming alive" briefly when driving. Annoying yes ... and certainly doesn't help battery life.
I tried setting the light to "Powersave" and thought that did not help either. Even with the 'blank' powersave screen it would light up on and off.
Anyone have any new reports on firmware or calls to SE on this?

RESOLVED:
Called SE tech support. They suggested turning off "automatic time zone" within the Date/Time settings. That did the trick.
