R2AT the latest firmware sure. But SEMC are releasing loads of firmware at the moment - most beta but its good anyway.

Because the platform sends bogus messages while charging, that is why!!!..But why this change of heart?..We sense a charger connected, oops, we will not shut down after all!!!..*********************** UI BASIC, HOLD YOUR HORSES

@gbrooks

are you going to buy a branded k700? If you do, tell me if upgrading the firmware from the SE site will relock your phone.

I have already asked my friend's technician about the relocking phenomenon. These are the two things he said:

1. The firmware of SE can be relocked unlike nokia that once unlocked will forever be unlocked.
1. My phone is installed with a firmware customized by SE for the service provider. So it's possible that the online update of SE knows this and relocks my phone everytime i try to update it.

The only probable solution to this is to flash my phone and install a UK version of the firmware without any restrictions to a service provider. It's a little expensive so i still have to think if it's worth it or not.

These are all theories so i hope that everyone here can share their experiences on this matter.

I will test it for sure. I will test everything i can with SEUS. It would be unlikely that the firmware would reset the locks (although definalty not impossible), it SEUS would need access to the gdfs area. However with the imei check - it is more than likely that it does.

There is one strange thing i like to add, even if i put the correct sim card on my relocked phone, my organizer didn't update to R3A02. It just went back to the original/default firmware. So i'm assuming that my phone is either updated already or it cannot be updated.
