@etaab
I'm not a fan of swiveling cameras on candybar mobiles, the overall effect, in my opinion, is quite tacky, Swedish or not.

My personal guess, p1000 will be 3G. From a swedish way of thinking, SE has always been the one to deliver the solutions you want, but maybe not att the desired price. My guess, they will delivere close to expectation, but at a high price. It's an engineers way of thinking...

UCSE got intel from a very good source that the P1000 won't have 3G.
no company can make the perfect phone, they can only improve it bit by bit to make sure that what they got already is working flawless

The camera solution on the Moto A1000 is possibly the best for a smartphone, and it is the solution a 3G P1000 should use. Please do not make it a rotating cam! It would look like a cheap toy.
A good camera at the back, and a cheap camera at the front is the best.

They do seem to be getting a little quicker at bringing them out. There was a year between P800 and P900 but only 9 months to get to the P910

Yes this reminds me the T68 and T68i story back then.

I imagine this one;Pda-Digicam-Mobile in same product...
just like this;
-uiq 3 and symbian 8.0 or 8.x,
-262k
-touchscreen(pen useable)
-bluetooth,irda,usb,gprs,
-html 4.0,4.1,
-office files (word,excel,powerpoint,access)can have been managed,readable and writeable,pdf files...
-well 3 dimension gpu (graphics accelerator for fun games)
-3-4 mpx with 2x optical zoom(or 3x),waterproof(at least 5 meters-10 meters)
-3g,edge
looks like notebook,yeah u right,and more(with digicam)
well it s just a dream...and I dream in...(just for a moment)
So u call this p1000 or p2000(I think it s p2000 and goes to p3000,p4000)

Rotating cameras are okay, but they arent "serious". Maybe a 1.3mp cam for your photos and stuff, where the cam is at the moment, and a cam similar to the existing one, on the front, for 3g calls?

well i've got the A1000 for free.
Do all 3G phones use USIM? or is that only the 3 network?
If so, I soooo want to get a P1K

It's no surprise that the next P-series is unlikley to be 3G.
Someone made the point earlier about size and they have a point.
Yes I know the A1000 is compact but Motorola invested heavily in building 3G phones and they have more 3G phones on the market and in the pipeline than all of their rivals in GSM territories. They are further up the learning curve.
Also the P-series is beloved of business people that travel a lot - there isn't great 3G coverage/roaming available yet.
But GPRS is now very widespread as ar WiFi hotspots in hotels, airports and train stations.
Easier to download e-mail headers over GPRS and heavy duty things like attachments over WiFi.
3G also affects battery life and you will also get dropped calls because the technology of both netwrok and handset is still relatively immature.
So it makes sense for next P-series to be an incremental improvement over the P910i. I would hope that it is available early in Q2. |

World first 5-band (system) phone would be nice:
GSM 850/900/1800/1900/3G.
GSM-users would be happy and 3G-lovers also |

se might bring out a good phone in 05,dont hold your breath on that with 04 as an example that might not happen might just get some updates -which they seem increasingly good at ie clara,p910,k500 aimed at different segments of the market but all very similar to previous se phones and of course a few updates. |
