Pheonix, howz the data transfer speed on a DSS sync station when compared to Bluetooth dongle when using P900 as a modem to browse the net on the PC?. I am planning to buy a dongle, but want to know if there would be any improvement in the speed.
Also, any pointers for a good blue tooth dongle in India? |

I couldnt get to configure the DSS+phone yet as i was outta station. will tell u asa i do it. I picked up a bluetooth adapter from bazee.com, and it costed me 1300 bucks. it works without any flaw, and i use bemused as well as transfer file to and fro the computer, not to say i browse thru it.

@sbjg: herez the result of my experiment...
My system lists COM1 to COM9. COM7 is the one that is used by the USB (DSS25). COM3,4,5 and 9 are used by Bluetooth adapter.
I disabled COM7 (all others are disabled in the phone monitor- system tray icon).
I enabled COM7 in the Phone Monitor Options in control panel. all other COM ports are disabled.
i docked my phone on the DSS25 and hit 'ok' on the SE dial-up networking wizard.
it searched for a while, BUT DID NOT FIND ANY PHONES!
i went back to the control panel > phone monitor options, and "reserved' com7. restarted the dialup networking wizard- still the same.
it searches for a while and then fails to find any fone.
and this is precisely the problem i faced when i initially tried. so what do i do now? i guess i could try a fresh installation of windows xp on a different hard disk, but tht would have to wait!
