Hi!

Can I use the SyncStation to use the P900 as a Modem for the computer? And if I can, how do I go about it? I have already tried putting the phone in modem mode and have disabled the COM port for the USB connection, but I just could not get the Dial-up networking to detect the modem...

on the P900, did you go to control panel, connection, cable and change "pc connect" to "modem"?

I can sync ok, but when I try to run the dial up networking wizard, it does not see any modem. Also tried to install modem manualy but it does not see any com ports (no infra or BT) so I can not select one to install.
It works on my 5 years old win 98 notebook with no problems, but when I try it on my two win xp machines (one desktop with win xp home, the other Dell Inspiron 5150 with win xp pro) it does not work at all.
I tried it with the pc suite version on the CD (2.0.somthing), also downloaded 2.3.1, but no success. When I tried 2.4.1 (UK) even the sync did not work so I uninstalled it, reinstalled the CD version and at least now I can sync.

Any new information on this problem? Solutions anyone?

Same problems with you guys.
I have started a thread before, but no luck.
It seems that it has something to do with XP.

What do you mean "surfing for free"?
How could this be done?

So has anyone tried using the P900 as a modem?. I am planning to get a dual SIM card holder and use the sync station to make the P900 act like a modem and surf the net.

I have tried, many many times - but same result - does not work.

My retailer said they've checked it with SE and that it does not work.
If this is true or not I don't know.

However - after conencting a Bluetooth dongle to my PC - I'm happy to use the phone as a modem. Works every time... Also the syncing is done via Bluetooth... The only time I need the sycstation is to upgrade firmware ....

So are you saying that the sync station does not work with XP or with any Windows OS?

@sbjg: Kenguru has posted this "It works on my 5 years old win 98 notebook with no problems, but when I try it on my two win xp machines (one desktop with win xp home, the other Dell Inspiron 5150 with win xp pro) it does not work at all."

I dont have anything but winxp, n aint in any mood to try on other OS after all those configurations i tried on XP. so guess you could try it on the other versions of windows u might be having, and tell us...!
