errm... alex. You say you chose the 7250i - it doesn't look better, it certainly doesn't have a bigger screen! |

You can send only 1 pic per mms with the 7250i. You can't even share pics through infra. So it would be more costly to send 5 pics by sending 5 mms. T610 can send multiple pages with several pics and tones!
I bought my wife a T610 with the FM radio attachment because she can't live without a radio. With a nokia radio feature, you have to turn off the radio even if you have exited already. Waste of battery life! With the t610, you just have to detach it and it turns off
Plus SE is the Armani of mobile phones. |

Plus, it works even if you have the phone off... Plus you don't have to take out the phone to look at which frequency is on... Some cool features that nokia will probably be copying soon... Too bad it is very hard to find one of them... (Of course if you are talking about the HPR-20. not the HPR-11)
And about the melodies, if you want to show off with your melodies, Nokia is a bad decision because you have to hold the bottom of the phone for the melody to be louder then the vibration voice!!! The covers do not fit on tightly so while vibrating the covers vibrate, too, which makes a very disturbing voice... Also the volume of the T610 is very good unless you want to show off while your phone is ringing... At school, I turn my phones vibration off because it is always in my pencil case (which is always on the table and makes very much noise and catches teachers attentions) and sometimes I forget to turn it off; I just press "c" for 2 secs and quit from silent mode... Even with no vibration, I don't miss any calls or SMS'...

@ alex: U gotta be kiddin` me when u say t610`s ploys are crap! Don`t forget that while the 7250i has a 8 channel polytones, the T610 has a 32 channels poly!If u listen to nokia it lacks dinamics, sounds muffled and u can easily miss a call. Not the same with SE, which has a powerfull speaker and u can always modify a midi to sound even louder.
My choice is the one i made 5 months ago: The T610. |

alex,
screen look bigger as in compare with 7210? but not T610. and somehow how could a 24bit polyphonic ringingtone better than a 32 bit?
it's understand that the ringing speaker too soft in a sense that u will not heard the ringingtone in a noisy environment. but even nokia ringtone is not loud enough to be heard in noisy environment.
the only things that that 7250 looked better is in the shared memory. |

There is one big problem with T610, the Java, I know it got alot better since R1C but it's still not good (I got an T610). Alot of companys makes the Java Games to Nokia and Motorola phones. I mailed The biggest Mobile gaming company "Macrospace" about a game (Ancient Empire(Strategy, like Advance Wars/Final Fantasy Tactics Advance)) And asked if they should do it on the T610, the answered that they couldn't cause the java is too slow on T610.
But else the T610 is a really, really good phone.

@andreas E: first of all, buy the T610, second, upgrade to R6B004, because I think they have fixed that Java problem in R6B004.. anyone correct me if I'm wrong

about the polyphonics of a nokia 7250i its crap it really is
check this out
got a ringtone an amazing one, got it off the internet (FR££) and bluetoothed it in a second
i played "2pac changes" on the t610 amazing....
i played the same ringtone (exact same file) on 7250i
puke""""" it did not play at all, aint no friggin joke,,,,
next thing i find out it plays smaller quality files only,...
what...
(this proved more that the 7250i is crapper at most of the features compared to t610)
the only way i could get around to playing that amazing ring tone on my mates 7250i was purchase it from a ringtone company.
£1.99 it cost him (he wanted this ring tone no matter what.)
through a laptop infra red it did not even take the ringtone, what the fcuk is the infra red on the 7250i for
(all i could say it was a fake infra red port but the only thing it took was a business card) ?>>>>??????
the final result
we heard the ringtone. it lasted about 15 seconds compared to the 3 mins of the t610 ringtone
we sat their paused untill the ringtone finished
i started to laugh
he laughed too, with a bit of sarcasm ( he then said its not funny)
i gave up with his ringtone $hite.
this is just the one episode of my mates ringtones, dont bother getting into episode 2 with the pictures transferring, living hell thats supposed to be locked up.
the t610 is yours for a year, the 7250i is already outdated.

I've been eyeing this comparison too, here's what counts to me
T610
+build quality
+larger screen
+themes
+BT
+quickshare, no crippled irDA
-small memory
-screen readability under sunlight
-fingerprint stains
7250i
+lightning fast texting
+no ascending ringtone! (you can select between normal, increasing, ring once, beep or silent)
+FM radio
+more memory (5MB vs 2MB)
+speakerphone (sometimes I need other people to join the conversation)
+Xpress on covers
+any ringtone as message alert (important to me)
+loud enough polyphonics
-screen quality

In stead of repeating what everyone has said here I will sum up it up.
I had my T610 for many months and enjoyed it, noticed that people were starting to buy it and soon almost everyone had it. Got myself a Nokia 7250 in stead and the only thing that I like with the Nokia, compared to the T610 is:
- it has radio
- faster texting
- it takes better pictures
So I sold the Nokia and kept the T610.

1st of all , i have to repeat myself:just by comparing the technical datas, the 7250 is NOT up to par with the T610.So, u can't compare them.
@prudent: the 7250 doesn not take better pics cuz it has the same CIF camera...

Even though it has the same CIF camera it doesn't have the same CMOS chip, which makes the quality of the pics differ from each other.
In my opinion the 7250 takes better pics in the darkness.

and i lost count at mcdonalds
so its getting really popular,
now imagine those same people goin to get the next nokia, it will never be like a SE, they will go its poor it feels even older, same as my 7210 or what ever, menu + everything will be back to old style,
with sonyericsson you can expect the next phone to have the lot |
