well this time round my phone froze. i think around 3 people messaged me. but i had to pull my battery out so the counter didn't work.

before that i think i spoke a little but to someone, like a few lines. and the counter said around 19000 bytes

so yea thats an estimation.

a very buggy app but as its not specifically made for the T610 i would presume. but yea can't wait for justyak.com to bring their out.

and to tranfer java apps to your phone, i use my mac iBook via bluetooth. i downloaded this program http://homepage.mac.com/jonassalling/Shareware/EricssonClient/ so i just drops file into the phone pic, and it saves it.

jonas salling has also made this cool app, where you can control your mac via your phone. like you can use powerpoint/keynote to switch slides from your phone, play your itunes with cool features, and more...

Yeah, but when I try to copy the app over to my phone I get the error message that you can't copy folders via bluetooth?

Hmm, apparently I had used Winrar to extract the .jar file, which is why I had troubles "installing it". Didn't work for me, I waited a long time, and it only said "connecting to gateway".

I downloaded it directly from the link (gprs is cheap in the US, unlimited for $9,99) anyways, when I click login, it says contacting gateway and stays like that forever... could this be a network oprtator problem? Thanks

On the note of a built in Aim-Messenger...

I found the following text labels on my T610:

Accept buddy failed
Accept IMs?
Accept IMs
Accepting buddy
Add buddy
Add to Buddy List?
Add buddy failed
Adding buddy:
Alert me
Alert when buddy is online?
Set status failed
Options
Change password failed
Changing password
Confirm password error
-Conversations-
Decline buddy failed
Decline IMs from buddy?
AIM failure
AIM:Offline
Screen name:
In order to use AOL Instant Messenger, you must have an AOL screen name and password. Create a screename on www.aim.com/t-mobile. Press continue when you have a screename and password.

These are just a few of the text labels from my Vodafone T610 which I need to flash the live! crap off.
Proof that it is built into all T610's?

I've had similar problems and I think (not 100% sure) that you can get round them connecting using an internet data account rather than a wap data account.

I have now connected and exchanged some messages. But as said elsewhere it's not 100% reliable.

I have to connect using the Internet GPRS account.
But not yet had a successful chat.. I dont even get my entire contact list up, just a couple.. and it says I have unread message some times after connecting, but it says nothing or indicates anything about who has sent it, or how to read it..

This applications seems alot like an alpha version to me.

I've just got a email from Justyak chat mobile instant Messaging:

We are working very hard to support T610. We are hoping to support it within a month.

According to the site t610 is supported, but no client is downloadable. P800 works but hangs when on 100%...

Hey all!

Did anyone check the TEXT LABELS in the service menu?
You will see labels like:

"Add buddy"
"AIM"
"Accepting buddy"
"Screen name"
"Accept IMs"
"Add to buddy list?"
"Alert when buddy is online?"

and so forth...

Interesting huh...

Dean

I've seen them. Wouldn't get my hopes up to high though, on T68 they are already on version R8 firmware, and still there are text labeles that are not used.... But then, who knows? Maybe will implement AIM on the phone one day...
