@goldorak,

hi, that's what i always complain: ~15KB = ~50KB in phone memory...
the photo is originally about 15KB in size, but when u save it into the phone, it will use around 50KB in the phone memory

I think most people have noticed this problem in T68i already, espeically the animated screen saver. However, in the T610, I think the situation will be even worse. A full screen animated screen saver for T610 will use up to 300KB I suppose.

I hate this allocation problem.

But very strange, I have tried if this problem exist in Nokia's phone, I found that my 7210 hasn't such problem, but the 6610 has. However, my friend's 6610 with the camera headset hasn't this problem...... I don't know whether Nokia has fixed this problem in newer firmware.

If complaining something about Sony Ericsson = stupid,
then should we just always praise Sony Ericsson and just reply "YES!!! T610 IS EXCELLENT! 2MB IS DAMN ENOUGH!!!!!! GUYS WHO COMPLAIN ABOUT IT ARE STUPID!!!!!!!"????? Sorry that's not my style. Stupid things..............haha

Okay, we spend two-week time to see whether the memory allocation problem will be fixed or not in commercial product. Before the comfirmation, I do not say the problem again here.

I am completely aware of the fact that 2Mb is not enough for many users out there, but if they want the T610 they will find a way to adapt to the fact that it just has 2Mb.

It is not necessary to have 30 photos, 10 themes, 5 screensavers, 3 javagames and a 100 diffrent midi files in the phone at once...if so buy
the P800 and a 128Mb MSD. Then you have a .mp3 player as well and need alot more space for all of your favourite .mp3`s.

@BeeWee,

I agree with your point. We buy a phone which is the best in gerenal but not every aspects.

But of course, I want the flaws of the phone are gone. Firstly, it will give us better user experience (we like our phone more). Secondly, it will attract more people to buy it and thus can increase its market share and sales.

The popularity of Sony Ericsson in Hong Kong is very very bad, because of its poor quality customer services and and unstable phones. T100 is the best-selling phones during the past months here, but many users of it complain that it always hang, always switch off automatically, low earphone volume, poor reception, bad own ringing tone quality...... So, my conclusion is, bad phones will scare away potential customers --> lower market share --> lower sales --> more loss borne by Sony and Ericsson --> worse future for ......

Is the memory size really such a big issue ???

I think not. When the P800 came out SE provided only a 16mb MSDuo, which is pathetic considering the capabilities of the P800. But did that stop people from buying the phone ? I guess not... in fact its one the best phones of all time.

The T610 really is a great phone but not the perfect phone. For that matter, there will NEVER be perfect phone.

More than the memory issue, SE should consider improving its Customer Care and After Sales Service. Right now it sucks, especially here in India. Would you believe that the service centres in Calcutta, India cannot even do the simple software upgrade.

I did not say that you cannot complain, i think its the right thing to only say facts. Im not a big SE fan im a fan of good phones and at the moment i do not like SE phones. But he said that he took 31 pictures and those pictures needed 900 kb , but people only talk about him needing 1 Mb for 18 pictures. And thats not wright. There alot of people here that want to buy a T610 and dont know shit about it. So they come here and read some comments. and if they only read the whole time , Damn only 18 pictures is 1 Mb , Etc etc etc. Maybe they will not buy it even if that info is wrong but they dont know its wrong. The phone isnt out k wright now. So he maybe has a Beta phone. and maybe on those phones you have to do a master reset before it counts well. So wait for the phone to come out, Im not a SE fan. eventhough i had some phones of theme. I love Samsung because i think qualitifly there arent better phones as those in my opinion. But my next phone will be a Siemens. I go for what is the best at the moment i buy a phone. And i am really suprised about people here on Esato talkin about Se as if its there company. Vote for the T68i they said a month ago. Like they designed it. Uhm i already wrote enough, so dont think that i dont want people to discuss on forums becausde thats why there are forums, But dont be talkin shit about a phone if you havent even tested it or used it.

"But dont be talkin shit about a phone if you havent even tested it or used it."

I will not "create" a problem if I haven't tried the phone. I am just saying the fact what I have seen. If you think that I'm giving wrong information to people, oh I'm so sorry. Just check whether what I have mentioned really exist in the phone after it is released. I don't like giving wrong information to others, or saying things which I am really not sure to the people in esato.

If talking about 31 pictures with 900KB, the problem still exists.
A 352x288 photo usually takes about 15KB. But the average memory used for the photo needs 29KB. Is it normal then? Or say, is it normal that the average size is lowered by a master reset??

By the way, I'm really stupid to reply this thread. "Stop complaining!!!!!!!!!!!"

Although Im bot happy enuf with my T300's memory, 2mb shud be more than enuf for me. But if u like to store lotsa pictures, tones, etc ... then i think you shud buy the Nokia 3650 in which u can extend ur memory upto 128 MB , now tht shud be ENOUGH for ppl who want to store pix on their phones ....

Filled it in one day with ringtones, games and themes.. needs more memory... what the point of the caller photo display if i can only show 2 people and not have any room to take more pics.... really disappointing to me...but i still like the phone..... my bro has a 7250..it's alright but nothing compared to the t616 but he's got tons of stuff in it and it's not even half full... oh well....

when i had my t68i i had about 40 pics in it ...i didn't mind taking the time to compress in photoshop and send back etc..etc.. but once you get spoiled with amount of memory the p800 and n3650 have it's hard t go back...

2MB of memory is enough well minimal to a phone....the 7250 comes with 5MB or so....that is plenty. The benefit of our phones is that you can send items too and from the phone via your pc...do this and you will be able to free up phone memory. i.e. copy your taken photographs over etc.
