I wasn't requesting information. I was passing on information. Information I possess that says (a) that at the end of March Lars from Nextlink told me in an email there would be no beta testing of Bluespoon digital and (b) there have been delays with Bluespoon digital that are excessive and frustrating to customers who have placed orders.
Both of those are FACTS that I was passing on to other users of this forum.

Well then mr. BooB, I guess you have decided to prove my point that you are a MORON! You wont accept the fact that your information is old, outdated, and INCORRECT! I will post a photo of my Digital on this forum for everyone to see Monday. I then challenge you to get one yourself or otherwise prove to me that it is offered for sale?? If necessary I will have the other 22 "Beta Testers" post in this thread when they receive their units end of next week, and still challenge you to find a Digital for sale to the public. My guess is that you are a very young man with more attitude than brains or a very old man who has lost his brains from senility.......either way you have a problem, why even start this thread if you had the answers????? mr beeb, im one of the beta tester of the digi-bluespoon, and i would like to tell you that you are so wrong, in fact ther is a 23 of us "beta tester" and we should be getting them by next week, and i think you need to go back and read the thread that bengalboy linked. and to prove you wrong, this an email i got my self from nextlink about the shipping of my digi-bluespoon .

Not sure what your deal is but I am suprised by the combative and antagonistic attitude of your mails. Bengal Boy is correct. Nextlink has agreed to send out 25 beta test units to 23 users of HowardForums. If you received a mail in March from Nextink, then gusee what, they changed their mind. It happens.
Mark (aka Bengal Boy) has a well respected history at Howard Forums of providing helpful information and product information. His thread on the Digital BlueSpoon has had over 15 thousand views and over 500 replies including several from Lar and Jan at Nextlink.
If as you originally posted, you are interested in finding out where things stand with Digital, BengalBoy's posts are the best available information at this time.
As one of 23 testers who will get the Digital Bluespoon next week, I have put my money behind my words.

I don't see the conflict here, other than tone. As said above, obviously Lars *did* change his mind since I'm one of the "23" and have copies of the invoice to support that. Has the existence of this beta been argued other than the fact that Lars said to someone that there won't be a test? It's easy to see how both could be true. Certainly the fact that there *is* a test, is. (Does that sound too much like Clinton?)
As for the disappointment re: the delays. Of that I have no doubt. Some of us "testers" were getting, well -- a little testy about the delays, too.
So why not just accept everyone's "truth." That Lars wrote the "there will be no testers" email and that there *are* testers now and that a lot of people are dicappointed. I don't think self-importance is what Mark's posts were about -- just providing updates.
I provide the same advice to forum readers here that I did elsewhere regarding the new Bluespoon -- stick it in your ear!

Mr. Beep I am another of the betatesters for the Digital Bluespoon on Howardforums. Mark (BengalBoy) is a very helpful and well respected member of howardforums. U got you info at the end of march and it is now mid May. Why dont you email Lars and find out what he has to say. There is a possibility (how ever remote you might think it is) that he changed his mind. I agree this could be an elaborate hoax and that either one person is playing 25 odd people or that all of us are in on this hoax together. Either way the best way for you to get upto date info is to email Lars, Jan or Pernille at Nextlink. That should help clarify whatever doubts you may have.
Mark dont waste your time with this guy u need ur rest. We will all be harassing u from monday  I think Mr.Beep is just pissed that he didnt get in on the betatest and is hoping that this is all a hoax.

I am one of the beta testers as well. Mr. Beeb your info is old and out of date. Mark, arranged for 25 beta testers and, you can see from his posts on Howard Forums that he has replies from Lars and Jan. Jan is a moderator here, you don't you check with him. Mark is a respected and helpful contributor on HF. All I see from you sour grapes because you don't have what Mark has and you are trying to prove him wrong with your out dated info. When they are released for the general public you can pretend you are a beta tester and as Larry said you can stick it in your ear then. Good luck in getting one in a few weeks.

Well what a response!!! Certainly got all your fur flying didn't I !! Particularly the acolytes of Bengalboy who've crawled out of the woodwork to sing from his communist hymn sheet.
Bengalboy does not have a monopoly on information - no matter how "respected" he is. If he is that respected why does he resort to rudeness, insults, and childish behaviour when people add their information to this forum that may not be compatible with his?
Despite the great lengths Bengalboy has gone to with his extensive quotes (boring) and his rudeness and bad manners (notice I don't sink to his infantile level of insults) I have never denied there are 23 beta testers, or that he is one of "privilaged" few. I don't deny that Lars may have changed his mind about beta testers either.
I don't need to be challenged by Bengalboy to buy a Bluespoon Digital on Monday either. As I have posted on this forum previously, Nextlink's supplier has told me I wont get my order till JUNE, I accept that though I'm disappointed.
All I have been doing in this forum has been expressing surprise that beta testers existed, passing on information, and expressing frustation at excessive delays.
Who has been the most combatative and antagonistic I'll leave those with common sense to judge. But I certainly haven't launched a tirade of foul mouthed insults like Bengalboy has.
This forum is for the free exchange of information, or does Bengalboy want to run it like a communist polit bureau?

Interestingly, virtually every assertion in you previous post is contradicted by your own previous posts.
In fact, the tone of this thread did not deteriorate until, you said that BengalBoys' information matered 'nothing' to you. And, that you were tired of "bull' from "self important" posts.
I do agree with you on one thing, a re-read of the posts tells the full story.
Mr Bleep, you might be right and we could all be wrong, but the smart money bets with the odds. You stand alone against 23 Beta testers.

I know what I've said and I don't care what 23 "beta testers" say.
(a) I was told in Match there would be no beta testing and this is information I wanted to express in this forum.
(b) There have been delays with this product which I am frustrated about and I'm sure there are many others who have ordered this eagerly awaited product who feel exactly the same as me.
(C) I reserve the right to express my frustration on these delays in this forum
(d) I am I'm looking forward to receiving the production model of the Bluespoon digital in June.
(e) In the meantime, how the sanctimonious, self righteous "beta testers" who have jumped on Bengal's bandwagon feel about this I really don't care.
I haven't sunk to level of childish insults and abuse that is the hall mark of certain contributors to this forum. Of that I am very sure.

The fact that you were told there would be no beta test - that would make me pretty livid as well. But Lars at Nextlink was probably very busy with the impending launch of a new product, and I know he and Bengalboy have a long-standing relationship, which is why he may have communicated with Bengalboy about the beta test, and not with you or any of the others who must have contacted him about a beta test.
Attacking Bengalboy, accusing him of being a "communist", "self-important", and "patronizing", and branding us as his "acolytes" - that is just plain immature, regardless of your level of anger or your reasons for being angry.
How's this then; there is no beta test. Those little silver and gold teardrops that say "Digital Bluespoon" hanging from our ears sometime next week are merely figments of your imagination. Trust me, Mr. Anderson, there is no spoon. |

I repeat - I don't care about the beta testing that is taking place. I just wanted accuracy. I was told there would be NO beta testing by Nextlink and then I learn there is beta testing. I just wanted to highlight this contradiction in this forum. Something that Bengalboy, for reasons best known to him, took exception to.
I FULLY accept beta testing is taking place, and that you, and Bengal, and his other acolytes, will be using the beta products next week before production models are shipped to customers in June. I don't have an issue with that.
I made NO ATTEMPT to become a beta tester through Bengal - nor had I any desire to. So how can I be angry that I am not taking part in beta testing?
As for insults and immaturity - I repeat - I think any right thinking person who reads back through this thread would find Bengal's language far more rude and insulting than mine e.g. "freakin moron" and "lost his brains to senility" are just some of the expeltives that have come from Bengalboy. |

If you didn't like my insults before, here are some more for you to choose from. Obviously you didn't really want to know the factual answer to your question. If you had your EMAIL from Lars, why even post your question asking for information. When confronted with overwhelming evidence that you are mistaken, instead of accepting it and thanking the person who provided you with a more up-to-date scenerio, you decided to "tongue-in-cheek" imply I was lying. That's the difference between you and I as I see it. You insult some one in a "more civilized manner" while I being American, "cut throught the crap & tell it like it is".
