Seems to me like most of the complainers would be better off with a regular low to mid-end cell phone, rather than a P(C)800...

The graphical interface for Sony Ericsson's communicator P800 is called UIQ. Now a new version of it has been released, which of course increases the speculations that a new P800 may also be on the way out.
Above all it is the appearance and the sound that have been improved in the new version. Functions for games and music should also have become better in the new version. The possibilities to make the phone more personalized by "themes" in form of color
schemes, background pictures etc. has also been improved.

SOON THERE WILL BE BETTER SOFTWARE FOR P800

At the beginning of April it will be possible to
upgrade the software in P800. The upgrade will among other things improve the quality of pictures taken with the built in camera.
Another thing improved in the new software is the bluetooth. Previously in some cases it has been problematic to connect bluetooth accessories.
UIQ is the name of the software functioning together with the operating system SymbianOS. Recently a new UIQ version was released and it is that new version P800 users will be able to put in their phones. Sony Ericsson now starts testings of the new version of UIQ. Our sources claims the new software will
be released at beginning of April to the users.
It is also said that those having a P800 will possibly be able to upgrade their phones by themself by dowloading an upgrade file from internet. |

Why do people call phones Bricks, 7650, p800, laptop with a gsm can , it's still a phone,

I have to admit I was slightly disappointed when I recently saw P800 for the first time - it looks kinda bricky. I am not sure I want to splurge $650 for a phone/PDA I am not going to be comfortable with and I have been exploring the other options, namely the Tungsten W.
Could anyone be kind to give me their breakdown of pros and cons for P800 and for Tungsten W (or any other PDA+phone)?
I really appreciate P800's versatility, but being a physician, I can greatly benefit from a bunch of Palm-based medical software.
What's your take at this?
