Just bought one of these yesterday. I have mixed feelings about it:
- seems quite compact (maybe I had Nexus 6 for too long)
-nice camera, I like windows 10 and the sync with my laptoparents
-love that it has memory card
-it charges really fast and love the USB type c
- edge seems a step forward to Internet Explorer
- but the plastic feels a bit cheap
-the app gap is still there
- certain apps load a bit slow
- for some reason logging with the Microsoft is not as seamless as it is logging with Google or apple on android or iPhone. ...first time I did it contacts/calendar/email didn't sync even though u derby account to in settings it was showing I was connected ! A hard reset fixed this though
Overall it seems like a step forward to Windows 8.1 but with all Microsoft apps available on ios and android this phone seems a bit late to the party |

Hey Aussie. MS really should have shipped every 950 or XL with a Mozo back cover, it completely transforms the phone. It makes it feel like a real flagship phone. I'm really loving mine and use it along with my 6S Plus.
Still loving WP, I have no idea whether it will be a success, maybe not on the grounds it has had 5 years to compete but it still feels like the best OS out there to me. Really looking forward to my dock arriving and trying continuum (8-12 weeks according to the MS store website !!) We really do need an alternative to IOS and Android. A two OS choice is really not enough.
I really like the BB Priv form factor, the sliding keyboard takes me back to the days before the original iPhone when there was some innovation in mobile phone design.
Anyway I hope you enjoy the 950 XL, a couple of badly needed updates and it will be a top handset

Thanks Lemmy I hope you are enjoying yours too. Thanks for the tip about Mozo case, will give that a try
I agree about the need about a 3rd alternative but feel like Microsoft should do more. Hey I have a 6s plush too! 😉 (plus Nexus 6 as I am as you know an Android person )
How are you finding the battery - I lost about 60 % today after moderate use. It is OK but not fantastic. How is yours doing? I have WhatsApp on it so am wondering if this causes much battery drain
I like how the photos sync with the laptop through one drive, definitely smart thing to do
The phone e seem to run fine the one thing I would like fixed is the loading of some .apps (seem's a bit slow). Anyway I am sure a couple of updates will fix this
I ordered my dock too, I am I terestre too see how this works.hopefully more universal apps will come out

I've read about the battery drain from other users but I have not experienced this at all. As I have said before though I am not a user of social media or its apps so maybe that's why I haven't noticed this. I have also turned "hello" off and I don't have "Cortana" turned on and always listening as I cant get past the voice training, strangely this worked fine on the Lumia 930 running the insider preview
The mozo back cover really is a worthwhile investment if you are going to keep the phone, it really does transform its looks and its handling.
It was definitely rushed to sale and needed to get another couple of updates before they did this but I had been using WP10 on my Lumia 930 using the insider app so I knew what type of issues I was going to encounter.
Still, I know I will move my iPhone on and get another handset to replace it but I also know that I will be keeping the 950 XL
