@ Nightblade - Mate I know how to change the tones, what i meant is that I want to download a custom tone/mp3 onto the phone to use as a ringtone

@ se_love - Mate there's no need for that kind of gutter language...anyway you misunderstood what i was asking, pls read above (reply to Nightblade).

Everyone else, thanks for your help. I've solved one of the issues which is that I'm using a 2nd phone for all my reminders, so the calendar issue is kinda solved....one down two to go

Well how did you get apps and such in? There you go, you got access to music. Sorry if i sound round, and I honestly say this in the nicest way possible, is it that hard to just link the phone to the PC and drag n drop the files into the proper folder section?

Apps is a different thing as these are .jar/.jad files which i can place in OTHERS FOLDER.

My question is what about if i want to use an .mp3 file for a ringtone? Is there a special folder to place it in? Do i need to convert it? etc

@ mdsak47 - What you on about mate?? I want to change the sounds of the reminders on the calendar and according to everyone, this is not possible...do you know of any other way?

PS, I've been ringing orange, but they are closed for business...hopefully they'll open tomorrow.

Instead of the calendar use the alarm. Its a damn better way I have to say, though.I mean do you need it for everyday or certain days of the week?

@ se_love - i do use the alarm mate, but i have many reminders setup every single day on my nokia and on the w995, there are only a limited number of alarms...this is why its such an issue. I'm just wonder why mdsak47 was saying there is a way?

Cause of the alarm, most likely. And you know you can use a custom sound for the alarm right? Man before posting here again explore the phone a bit. It'll do you wonders.

right se_love mate, as u mentioned i played about with the settings and ur right that i can play mp3z no problem to change ringtone. So two problems now down and just one to go.

Regarding the alarm...well yes you can change the alarm sounds, but there are a maximum of 5 alarms which is kind of okay for 5 things but since i usually place reminders for more than 5 things on the calendar, those alarms are no good.

Unless someone knows of a way to add more alarms?

@ idumbakumar - where u gone mate? I thought u said that u'll let me know if the a2uploader allows u 2 change the calendar sound?

Thanks

Not sure if this is what you are after but there are recurrent alarms on the W995 (as with a few SE phones) which means you just tick which days you want the alarm for, choose a text reminder and also what tone you want, you can set the alarm for each day of the week at 1 time, add this to 5 different alarms, you have alot of choice

Thank You, but thats not the issue here. I want to be able to view a days event on my calendar and know what tasks i have for the day and if i forget, i want a reminding sound. For example today is the 30th December, but if i have a hospital appointment on jan 16th, i want to see that in a calendar format so that i know what i have to do in a couple of weeks...this is why the calendar is the most important and rather than complicate things by having 5 alarms, its better to know that i can change the sound of the calendar and idumbakumar still hasn't got back in touch with me if this is possible with the a2uploader firmware
