hmm, its like this: as you mentioned with edge you get around 24kb/s.
So lets say you're in youtube and are going to watch a few videos on an edge connection. You'd be buffering the video @ 24kb per second. That to only if your signal is high enough. What if that video was in the high 100mbs.. And lasted barely 30sec? Would you wait that long whilst getting cut during buffering periods. Hehe i wouldnt. 3g and hsdpa (better) boosts all that up. You can watch an amazing youtube video in hd without a single lag.
Edge would be perfect for surfing the web for a patient person who has time to wait. 3g is best recommend and realy worth the switch from edge, i remember with vodacom and my hsdpa stick on pc i've managed to get 600kb/s on a 30mb download. Its realy worth the change. Hope this helps |

I agree. I leave my phone on WCDMA only, and only manually switch to GSM if I really need to make a call and there's no 3G signal.

I use mainly GSM. Very seldom if I really need high speed I temporary allow 3G. |

Thank you for all the info.
@GameGeek101 do you play multiplayer games on mobile over 3G? cause I've read a lot about 3G online gaming. Curious to know what is all that about? and which games?

Once you use 3G you willl never want to be stuck in 2G again and will realize its benefits once you switch back to 2g. I used to have 3.5G where i lived and now m stuck on 2g and i hate it

you do get online mp mobile games, but i use my usb modem in pc and play online (on a 3g /hsdpa connection) its pretty impressive and more mobile than adsl, but costs more. Im usualy playng games like call of duty, dota , runescape online. You could easily say im a gamer from my nickname |

Warcraft 3 and most mmo's work fine over 3G. With First Person Shooters and the like you will get some latency, especially when playing on oversea servers |
