After reading you guys experience. I can consider myself pretty lucky. I ordered my BS Panther with credit card from Pilcon. No additional information or proof required. The guy who handled my order name Michael Olsen.

I am really **really** angry with expansys. They have been lying to me for days, telling me: Your order has been dispatched today. I finally cancelled today when they told me my t68i and jabra headset was out of stock. I told them what a lying bunch of (&^%& they were, and how they couldn't deny it because I record my phone conversations. I have them contradicting each other: and one admitting accidentally that the other lied on tape.

I'm gutted. I can't afford the £300+ the high street shops want. And they still haven't refunded my money

I buy several items a month from Expansys and have done since they started and I can honestly say I have never had a problem except with my first purchase which took a bit longer due to their credit checks.

Expansys rang back and offered me a solution, whether it comes through this time remains to be seen, but as you recommend them, I decided to give it one last chance. I guess it could just be a freak occurence.

Thanks for the tip,

Just googled "expansys declining order" and it came up with this thread, so here's my story.

I go onto expansys.co.nz and order a 4GB Micro card and some headphones for my K800i and, one day after I have given them my credit card details and all information, they change the status to "declined for security reasons" on the tracking thing!!

This is outrageous because i'm a genuine customer and you cannot get those things in New Zealand anywhere except from them!

So I sent them an email demanding answers and i'm awaiting their reply.

the bottom line is that credit card companies are crap. My friend is (well, was) an independent record dealer. He lost £000's due to a fraudulent buyer from latvia.

Once it was discovered, he assumed that he had some sort of protection from the credit card company, after all, he'd paid a shed load for the card-reader and ability to take credit cards...

in the end they just bent him over and said bad luck, we only offer protection to BUYERS.

Such lack of protection for businesses forces them to be cautious about ANY credit card sale.

Well, after reading some users experiences with Expansys, I decided to try out their PayPal express checkout and ordered a brand new HBH-DS220 this morning (at 10:30) and it has already been shipped!

It seems that using PayPal gets around the hassle of faxing off photocopies and yes, this was my first order with them as well! I'll keep you guys updated if anything else happens but I expect it to be here by tomorrow morning!

Result: Me being a very satisfied customer (so far).

I can imagine these things having to do more with the cc companies then the retailers...
In the EU they're changing from the old credit cards to the new ones with the chip in it and a pin-code.
I've always ordered stuff everywhere without problem. But since I have the new card... I ordered something from Towerhobbies. Then got my new card and placed another order a week later with the new card's details.
No go... I had to provide all kinds of copies, and ask for verification codes at my bank to continue with the purchase. Too much hassle for me so I cancelled the order. Seems strange to have one transaction go without problem, and then a week later consider your client a security risk. So I think it's the new credit card flavour that causes this.

Well, I ended up ringing them up in Australia and asking what the problem was. They said that they have had some dodgy credit card purchases with people with the same name as mine, (coincidence) and also because I put my address as a "hotel" they didn't want to ship it.

I explained that we actually own the hotel and aren't guests there, and so they apologised and have got the order underway again. Even though it's still taking a long time to get what I wanted...
