ericsson no. 637 1600 (althought hard to call talaga)

went to smartnet... update took 1 hr.

ask regarding indo sw, not sure will be sucessful... they say once connected, INCOMPATIBLE SW display will appear if ibang sw.

it's an UPDATE and NOT UPGRADE kaya dapat previous version shld be compatible.

my "wont fully charge unit" was not accepted, they asked me to experiment n check if it's my unit or batt has prob ( we got 2 t68s here, inter change the batt daw)
at home kasi it will take them 1 WEEK! to diagnos coz dami na raw ericsson for repair doon.

I think your right Dan47! Smartnet only makes an UPDATE to the previous software of the phone, thats why it only takes a while around 30 minutest to 1 hour. On the other hand, in Semicon they really make an UPGRADE coz it changes a lot and override some country specific datas (eg. language)...besides, it takes about 2 to 3 hours. The time comparison says a lot.

I think that is the reason why Smartnet cannot upgrade my phone because my T68 has a different SW than the SW upgrade they are offering.

I think I really have to go to Semicon main!!!

Hi ca_abarro,

So you mean to say that Smartnet is also not able to update (upgrade?) indonesian warranty units like ours? Pero puwede sa Semicon main?

Hi Danlai,
I'm not very sure, pero malamang free kase ako hindi hiningiaan ng warranty, buti na lang dahil wala ako kaya libre.

@lilalf,

Now im not sure about that Indonesian Warranty, the only thing I could say is that if you have the English, Bhs. Malaysia and Bah. Indonesia language in T68 then, you better go to semicon!! Smartnet is only able to update SW with Tagalog language....I dont know why...I dont know who has a better explanation!!!

To everyone:

I just came from Smartnet today before lunch. I had my Indo warranty t68 upgraded from R1B to R2B013. It took them less than an hour and they didn't even ask me for my receipt. And they didn't charge me ANYTHING! Wala lang, they got my phone, gave me a number, went to upgrade/update my phone, and came back less than an hour later with my discharge pass. It was no trouble at all although I did have to walk from parking near Octagon (where Ericsson Head Office is) to SMB Properties Bldg. where Smartnet is. I'm quite impressed since Semicon (they suck big time!) was charging me P1,650 for the upgrade, P550 for each successive upgrade, and was going to take 3 hours! Sa main office to. Wag kayo magpapauto! Punta kayo sa Smartnet, courteous pa mga tao!

I bought my phone in HK, or had it bought for me there. I called Ericsson before and they said that all phones are under warranty, but I was still prepared to pay a small amount for upgrading sa Smartnet. Anyway, they didn't ask for a warranty card (which I don't have) nor a proof of purchase (which I did bring) they just got my phone. They would've seen the "Indonesian Warranty" printed at the back since they took off the battery to write the IMEI and other stuff down and they brought it in first without the battery before they came out to ask for it. I didn't hear a hoot from them about warranties, or my proof of purchase, or the "invalid SW" problem supposedly from Indonesian Warrantied phones. So I don't know what they looked at or if they had any problems...
