A week ago I was a HUGE FAN of the c902. it was my dreamphone.
Until I saw the N82 image quality and the great connectivity. N82 has way less noise and macro is almost too precise (bad for shaky hands). They were equally priced so i got the nokia. (wifi, internet radio, maps, office, ngage, etc.)
The only thing i dont like about tyhe N82 is that it doesnt save your changes, if you set it to vivid colors, the next time you turn it on resets at automatic.

I hate when people post 800x600 pics from a 5mp camera pretending that it is the best camera ever. Of course, pics looks much sharper and nice when resized down, but the quality and detail is all gone. sometimes you dont even know if the pic is well focused or not.
So here i post more full size.
FULL SIZES ALL WITH N82, NO EDIT.
FLASH MODE, NO OTHER LIGHT SOURCE
MORE MACRO MODE

Why in every thread, some people try to prove N82 is poor?
Every single thread (almost) got at least one comment about N82. (If we think N82 isn’t good then why we talk about N82 and rash to compare with others? Isn’t it meaning that it is really capable to get decent picture?) Its little bit become boring. |

That's called promotion. You don't want to show the bad side of a product if you want to promote the manufacturer, all the while you really make an effort at finding the worst possible examples of the competition's products.
I know someone here at Esato that praises the sharpness and lack of noise in his own downsized shots while complaining that full size shots from other camphones look bad with too much noise.

thats just silly. we/I have post many full size pics with C902.
by the way......WHATS THE FREAKING IDEA TO WATCH PICTURES LIKE ABOVE, (there you have to draw the bloody image from left to the right and then up and down, just to see the damn thing ???). of course we post shrinked pictures, THATS BECAUSE WE WANT TO SEE THE WHOLE PICTURE AT ONE TIME.
about N82.............. i really understand why this magazin gave it 7 of 10.
macro N82..yes there you have less noise (becuase it dosent appear, hell, even C902 have little noise in close macro).
but larger views, (landscape, etc) there you see the aggresive post-proccesing really KICKS IN, the details DOSENT look super-good.
also, N82 DOSE not produce same accurate colors as C902, (which also many reviews says). i have allways think N82 have very strong, cool colors, but very real ????

I think iSE was trying to make a point about how some people post downsized shots and STILL talk about sharpness...
of course we post shrinked pictures, THATS BECAUSE WE WANT TO SEE THE WHOLE PICTURE AT ONE TIME.
...and without all that pesky noise and purple fringing...
. . .
Remember back in the days when wristwatches were popular and the watch makes where bragging about water resistance, how a watch would labeled "water resistant to 50 meters" while in reality it was hardly even safe to wear while swimming. This is exactly the same with camphones today. A camera phone with a 5 MP CMOS sensor only looks really good when resized to smaller than 1 MP. Hopefully photos from the 8 MP models from SE, Samsung and LG will scale to 2 MP. Just a real shame about all those wasted millions of pixels.

(took this one minute ago...
(no edit)... so, where is the noise ??? like i said, even C902 have very little noise in macro.

Really nice Hasselblad pic there Plank. I also felt the c902 very good at makros. A bit sharper pics than N82
But the N82 arenīt bad either. Itīs always hard to compare when not having the exact same shooting object or lightning..

This is shot with plain makro and auto and no -EV adjustment for getting darker pic with less noice. Think the c902 pic needs to be adjusted like Plank does, Document mode and a bit of -EV
But it shows how the phone should be adjusted for best results. Look and learn guys

Perhaps the Carl Ziess lens is good but the software inside the Nokia is doing bad job. Should i wait for the Samsung or SE C905. |

You asked and I felt obliged to answer:
Looks less impressive at the actual 5 MP size. But it'll probably do for 4x6 prints.
Having said that, this is just what you'd expect from the minuscule CMOS sensors and the millimeter sized lenses used nowadays in camera phones. Even P&S digicams are seeing similar results now as the manufacturers have pushed up the megapixels above the limit where unfiltered (NR) photos are acceptable.

Has anyone been into shop to read the mag yet Digital Photographer. It makes interesting reading seeing the pics and the difference between the contrast and colours each phone produces. As a reminder the front has a city at night pic. |

he he... you guys are really something. you complain, BUT YOU NEVER POST SOME AWESOME PICTURES BY YOURSELF, come on now..ABU, Vipera, etc,..where are all your stunning pictures ??? yeh, i thought so.
and Vipera...are you for real man..... there is no purple fringing on that picture. its even no major fringing in 100% crop.
edit. you should know what purple fringing looks like before you say something... this a good example what fringing really is:
