Ok, sorry to bump an old thread, but I just bought one of these off ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250372253287&_trksid=p3907.m32&_trkparms=tab%3DWatching#ebayphotohosting - how does it look to you guys??) and I'm aware that it has a fair bit of dust under the glass lense (tho apparantely doesn't affect the photo quality...). Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone had had any problems with not having the lense there and also if they put the lense back in again. How hard is this? will the lense be tight if you put it back in or do you need to glue it or what??
Thanks for all your help

Today i try to open the phone using credit card, guess what? I ended up damaging the edges of it. It took me around 20 minutes to open, but it didnt came out completely. On one side, it remained attached with phone. Anyway, when i did that, to my surprise, the glasscover was with camera unit, instead of coming out with the bottom cover. I tried to pull the glasscover, but it remained fixed to the unit. Actually, i wanted to clean the glasscover as two dust particles is stucked with it. But i couldnt
I dont know, but in a process, i think i have damaged the unit someway. Now i notice that camera's focusing ability is gone. The pic are somewhat out of focus. Or may be its a psychological. Help me if any one can.

yeah, you have to take the lense off with a scalpel or something like that.. how do you mean damaged the edges?
I however have a much worse problem. The power button on top of my phone is broken/stuck down. I don't have any torx screwdrivers and can't undo it.
Has anyone else had a problem like this? ie the power options keep coming up without actually hitting the power button? movement and the side camera button do this. It's highly annoying and I need to get it fixed.
Has anyone found or know a fix to my problem? Thanks a lot in advance if you do |

Hey people, sorry for bumping such an old thread, I just want to inform anyone who had the same problem that removing the glass is easy and safe, pictures are indeed sharper and better detailed, and if you are careful with your phone, you should not have any problem with the plastic lens cover, it is hard enough.
I removed it yesterday and it is just fine.
Oh, and it can be put back in really easily, even without opening the case again.
