That would be great. I think ill probabaly end up leaning towards the W960 purley on the fact that whilst it doesnt have a DSP chip it still gives excellent quality, plus the interface and managment of music and videos is still second to non bar the iphone. Thanks |

I couldn't comment on the 5610 as i have never used one or listened to Music through one.
As for the P1 unless it is vastly improved over the M600 i think the sound stage and quality and volume sucked big time.
There are 3 things that effect the quality of the Music you listen to the first and most important is the hardware insufficient power to process decode and reproduce the music well is the first one. Secondly is how you encode your Music and here size really does matter and smaller really is not better and lastly the headphones you use. All three things effect the end result.
Just over a Year ago i was using 160kbps AAC with a pair of Sony EX-71SL headphones and thought sound qaulity was quite good. Now i am using 256kbps AAC with a pair of Shure EC2g headphones and the sound is much better. Originally i listened on a N93 and then N95 now i listen on a N95 8GB the consistent factor on all these devices is the OMAP 2420 chip with a DSP the higher bit rate and better Headphones are what has increased the quality of the Music. In between i used a 5th gen iPod with the same encoding and Shure headphones and i have now decided i can sell the iPod as the Music reproduction is as good on my current set up.
I am by no account an Audiophile but i know what i like and what sounds good or not, go read my N95 8GB review and you will see the very different types of music i tested the sound with. It doesn't produce just loud sound or heavy bass but a detailed sound stage with each instrument and effect being heard clearly. Leftism by Leftfield is a great Album to check out how well your player handles complex music and how good the separation is, even Eminem The Re-Up has some complex effects as well as lots of deep bass.
I really don't buy or rate any device just by their label but by how they perform as IMO there is nothing worse or as pointless as listening to average Music.

well..as far as i have seen and heard.i think se gives better experience. Definitely, w950i's phone speaker was too low, but thru head phones it did give good quality.
n95 8gb is definitely the best phone from nokia and otherwise too, but i think its still slow. What is dissapointing in its music player is that u cannot scroll the play list when ur playin music..u need to go to options then library n etc. which is quite a work, compring it to even the 1st version of walman.
Maybe nokia phone might produce better sound(which i cudnt feel it in any of the phones such as n91,n81,n95 and n95 8gb), but i love the mega bass, which is trade mark of sony. Also a dsp drains the battery more faster. So if i wanted to listen more music without the hassle of rechargin(many times) then definitely i wud go for w960i(anyways m gon GET w960i anyhow, payback time ~27hrs).
Also one can always purchase an hbh ds980, if they missed dsp that much.

I really don't understand how you say the N95 8GB is slow in anything it does as it boots in 22 seconds and any app opens immediately no delay or lag. Compare that to an SE smart phone that takes a minute plus to boot and even messaging that takes ages to open as per the many complaints in the P1 thread.
If you only want to buy SE fair enough that's your choice but please stop inventing problems for a device just because it's not from SE and especially when SE's are so much slower it's a joke to complain about a Nokia smart phones speed.
@Bav
Congrats on you choice and i may i suggest you encode @256kbps AAC for great results iTunes works well for doing this.

Walkman branded SE phones does make difFerence, Iook the MegaBasS, other brand didn't offer better bass (extrabass, superbass, bassboost, whatever), and not only that, walkman handsfree hpm70 like was modified Sony earphone MDR-xx (i forgot the series, feel lazy to search), and yes it offer muchmore better quality than ipod, even n91 (without sennheiser), almost similar to real Walkman sound, hard to notice the differences.
So, who can prove the Walkman on SE just a brand name and didn't offer walkman quality, prove it, dont just talking b-sh*t. IOn my country, many Nokias user move to Walkman phone coz it quality really promising. A friend of mine power up his n95 with SE hpm-70 in-earphone andI hpm-85 walkman headphone because he not satisfied with it n95 handsfree, and now he waiting for w96 |

Thanks Dogman. I actually already encode all my stuff at 320kbps. Just need to find a decent set of in ear headphones. Looking at either the Shure EC2's or a pair of Sony Noise reduction ones if i can find some. |

nokia's fones has been functional in all of a phones concepts but in SE there are K/W/T Series so i think that nokia put more function in music like walkman fones...thats why not all walkman fones have good camera not like k series...
