this always happen in here.
more or less, members post because of issues that concern them and it doesn't always happen that any "help" always comes instantly (read: either tranced is not around , or some other "really" helpful member who would care to post anything about your issue).
i only hope you are not offended both by orin and myself with our previous related posts. i did not mean to offend. peace, mate!
try to look at your issue regarding your cracked lens. finally posted some link for you which i think could somehow "help".

I haven't read the whole topic, so this has probably been mentioned already:
If you want the whole album IN IT'S INTENDED ORDER with all Track information, provided you have the physical CD, then you need to download Disc2Phone (It's a SE product, available on their website).
By using this program, you put the CD in your computer, and then plug your phone in and walla!, the program compresses and stores the tracks on your phone ready for playback - with all album info and if supported, album art.

I have the w810i and my Albums do sort in the correct order. This is because my mp3 files have the track number embedded in the mp3 tag. I don't have a fancy w810i either. It is a LOCKED and Cingular Branded phone in the US. If you do not have track #'s in the mp3 tag, it will soft alphabetically as you have described. My "Dark Side of the Moon" is sorted exactly right.
Either use a tag editor to fix these, or at the least in Windows OS, right-click, choose Properties. Go the the Summary tab and click Advanced. Look at the "Track Number" field. You can edit these. If you do indeed find out you do not have your tracks numbered correctly, look up Media Monkey or google for the multitude of ID3 tag editors that will fix these for you in bulk.
hey, thanx mate. Never thought about that one! I always sorted out everything except the track numbers! I'll try it out now. |

Hi! I'll write down what I found out here...
I used to edit my MP3 tags with a program called TagScanner, really good for mass tagging. But for some reason my W880 showed these MP3s in a strange order. Then I tried another tag editor program called MP3Tag, and it all worked OK with that one...
Both programs write ID3v1.1 and ID3v2.3, but there something else different that I still didn't detect. So I simply started using the Mp3Tag.
But now I'm having another problem: if an album has 2 or more CDs, I use the DISCNUMBER tag to make that distinction. Apparently my W880 can't read and sort the MP3s based on that tag. Is there a solution for that, besides renaming the album and adding "CD1" or "CD2" to it? |

Haven't read all the posts so forgive me if I am regurgitating what someone else already said, but I had the same problem. Go to Menu/file manager/sounds/more/sort by/ select "file type". This groups them as intended. Atleast it did on mine. If it doesn't, I do not care so much.
This works for songs under similiar artist name. It doesn't work for my chemical brothers who have songs listed under guest artists. It should have a "list by album" option. If that is the case you have to make a playlist with songs of the album and sort as created. In the end it is a pain in the ass but only have to do it with cerrtain albums.
