im agree with
JuanPablo - "I'd choose W910. Why? Cause is slim, light and sexy"
and
darknoob - "@QVGA
1.Java is now more attractive than the past. got many application nowdays. I got also S60 and It didnt that much better than java platform , but it slower than java platform.
2. "got million timmes better screen"? lol but W910's battery is million timmes better than N81's one. What do you prefer ?;) (W910's screen is really nice)
3. "brilliant legibility in direct sunlight"? you tried W910 and N81 that you can compare?
4.WiFi? I prefer HSDPA because It's more available and faster ( I got N80 )
4.nGage platform?, nothing special about n81 graphic chip, just branded as ngage phone. W910 with its new java platform and motion sensor can has nice games.
My opinion : I prefer W910 because It's got Walkman 3 player, thinner, ,bigger screen, HSDPA."
great choice mate my w910 will arrive on monday

1- S60 has and will always have more applications than Java. And which S60 phone do you have? Because N76 that i used is almost equally as fast as SE phones.
3- Dont even argue on that point. Everyone knows Nokia displays have no rivals as far as sunlight legibility is concerned.
4- Ok, if you want to pay for HSDPA then be my guest. Because many many countries have free WiFi spots. and N81 has HSDPA too!
5- N81 is a better gaming phone, enough said!
W910 is a good phone, but i have a fair idea of how expensive it will be and how useless that price will make this phone into.

Well if W910 has equally good legibility then it will be a gigantic leap for SE interms of display quality

1. I have N80 IE ,faster than n95's friend .
3.you didn't answer my question- Battery or a little better screen?
4. Nope, N81 doesn't have HSDPA:
http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_n81-2084.php
5. yep ,better gaming phone,but the main reason for W910 vs N81 is music.
W910 got more functions and walkman 3.
I dont know who is louder and better for music. We need to wait for reviews.
you can't reject phone because It doesn't have WiFi or 16 million colors in screen. I also can reject all of nokia's phone because their battery.

Just to chuck my tuppence in...
I had a W850i for ages and the phone was brilliant; then I 'upgraded' to the N95 cos of the Wi-Fi, 5MP camera, 'DVD-quality' video and GPS.
Girlfriend said 'dont do it... every Nokia N-series phone will screw up at some point (N80: crap Wi-Fi, N73: random phone shutdowns)'
I didn't listen and got it anyway; 4 months later and I'm now selling the N95 to fund the purchase of a W910.
Why?
1) On a full overnight charge, the N95 doesn't last a day;
2) The software will lock up the phone, needing me to take the battery out to restart the phone;
3) Nokia PC Suite: In a word, shite;
4) I tried using loads of programs to encode TV shows to watch on the N95, including Nokia own software (crashed EVERY time), PSP Video 9 and OuickTime... didn't work with the correct settings;
5) Nokia take the mickey launching the N95 with a crap battery and crap memory, then 6 month later bring out an enhanced version of the phone with a better battery and ten times the memory;
If you want a phone that will be fast, have a good battery and not give you an troubles, chose any Sony Ericsson!

that is pretty much exactly as I would say.....
I did like my n95 but for some reason i feel myself going back to SE and have just sold the n95(if the bloody buyer pays) to hopefully fund a k850i
@kyle....as the type of mobile user you said you were from the first few posts I think w910i will be perfect for you

1st of all I have an N80 AND HAVE NO WIFI PROBLEMS!! You either didnt know HOW to use that N95 OR you just had a phone with corrupt firmware! I have a friend who just got N95 and its a great phone, no problems, no crashes! My N80 has crashed ONLY twice. My W900, a friends K800 and W850 crashd more often! So sometimes its just the phone you have that has problems!
The N81 has a 369mhz processor same as N76, which i have playd with and its WAY quicker than W850 and K810 and to my knowledge the W910 and K850 use the same processor as W850 and K810!! So NO! N81 isn't slow!! The N81 has A SOUND CHIP! Makes its sound far superior to W910, and im already seeing complaints of POOR sound quality from W910 so there we go!
OH AND GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT! N81 and W910 have 2.4inch screen SAME DIMENSION W910 SCREEN AINT BIGGER!
In my case id take 16.7million colour screen over battery! My N80 batt can last me a full day with average use, and since N81 has a better battery im sure it wil last longer!

Yeah its becoming really tiring hear people say this crap over and over again. If nokia was half as bad as you all say, it wouldnt be no.1 and still growing now would it? If N95 was a quarter as bad as you say, it wouldnt sell like hot cakes despite it being 700$.

LOL ... I like this "darknoob" guy. He's funny and I love how he makes up his own phone stats/facts as he goes along! Great work buddy!
All this talk about WALKMAN is so great, it doesn't even have a dedicated DSP for goodness's sake! Some music phone eh?!
DSP, Touch sensitive Navi-wheel (iPod like, NICE!), Stereo speakers (Yup, 2 speakers!), 3.5mm Jack and 8GB to wrap it all up! THAT my friend what MUSIC oriented phone should be!
Oh I forgot, all that high-tech squeezed into the N81 don't mean a thing because it doesn't have the "WALKMAN" logo on it. Darn it, I guess it's crap now since it's missing the word "WALKMAN" that magically makes ANY phone into the greatest music phone regardless of hardware! ROFL! |
