Sounds like it causes instabliity keeping the generic code then, I'll do that too then after debranding (if I have the balls to do it on a £200 phone! )
Though obviously I'd have to change it back to generic again if I want to do another firmware update in the future without it sticking all the voda crap back on!
yep thats exactly what you gotta do

At the risk of sounding 5 - I want it and I want it NOW!

did you not have a special delivery option?
I had to wait a week for my N95 and in the end it would not work on 02 it was locked the seller said it was unlocked to GRRR
£330 for something I couldn't use I lost £50 selling it too
nicephone it marks easily tho and the screens exposed!
the N80 feels like a tank compared to the N95

@kerry - there was no special del option, the postage was free! And no other option, my only worry is that the seller doesn't just send it standard mail just in case something goes wrong in the mail!
He'd better remember to post it tomorrow so I get it tue or I won't be happy lol!

Just speaking to a mate who says when he debranded his Orange N95 using this method (phone was bought from an Orange shop) it also unlocked it too - does this method actually unlock the phone too?
