I think this phone will be perfect if they put a CCD camera in it.
Why CCD? Whats wrong with CMOS? CMOS pickups are smaller, use less power and are as good as CCD. The current range of Canon Digital SLR's, which are among the best out there use CMOS.

You're comparing DSLRs with camera phones?

I am not really comparing DSLR's with camera phones just asking why he needs it to have CCD when CMOS is as good. The canon dslr was just an example of you dont need CCD.

Go back and read the how much more expensive is a CCD sensor in a cell phone ? thread again. I saw you also posted there:

Modern CMOS sensors are supposed to be nearly as good as CCD now. CMOS is cheaper and also uses less power than CCD.
Note that highlighted part. You posted that less than two months ago. Do you mean that today CMOS is equal to CCD - not just "nearly as good"?
From CCD vs. CMOS:
CMOS cameras may require fewer components and less power, but they still generally require companion chips to optimize image quality, increasing cost and reducing the advantage they gain from lower power consumption. CCD devices are less complex than CMOS, so they cost less to design.

Is it possible on a phone?? See the 5.6-17.4mm focal length.

In these new (official?) photos focal length dimensions, as i see, are AF 3.8/4.75 mm.
In oldest pictures - 5.6-17.4mm focal length. See for example the fitst post of this topic or this review:

Where the truth lies?:)
Great phone IMHO.

and look at the ISO sensitivity for crying out loud...
and Face Detection capabilities
and fro where i see it, it looks like a Finepix look alike. or coolpix...
this has got to perform good, and not be called as a loud mouth...
thats why the phone is that thick... to make room for the barrel..
this i got to see. worth the wait....

Hey mate, Canon CMOS sensors are way larger than standard CCD sensors that's why it's better.

after my last SE unit, the K700i, i switched to Samsung two years ago, first with the clam E730 and the last one, the slider D600. what amazes me with their units is their camera capabilities and their screens. although without AF, still these two models produce print-quality photos (E730: 1.3mp, D600: 2.0mp)... and now comes the G800!
G800 simply blows me away (at the moment). just look at those product specs! since i have the W810 now for my music and (for now) immediate photography needs, i am now torn in between the K850 and this unit... at the moment, i guess i need to see sample photos taken by the G800 first if they more or less equal or even surpass those taken by plank's K850
yeah baby, Walkman rocks!

Yeah, I'm pretty keen to see pics taken with this new G800.
