i had bought a silicones case for my p990 a few weeks ago, after one day of use, i chuked it at the bottom of my drawer, the thing just attracts dust so quickly, there was always dust everywhere around the screen aswell which was pretty annoying, and yes, the clear bplastic case does have manufacture defects in it, luckily i noticed a sharp edge pooping out of itf before i sat my p990 into it, if not my screen would have history! so ultimately i went with no protection, the fone looks so much better, but i just have to be extra careful

Sorry guys, but everyone who knows something about cells will tell you, that only idiots buy silicone covers. Apart of making the cell look like in Durex, it creates micro climate, keeping dust and moisture inside the cover and cell, what at the end causes serious damages to the phone...

Have a nice day...
no cellphone...

And thats why no cover is better than a silicone cover.

A cover 'll only reduce wear of the plastic cover and buttons, but it can't help the accumulation of dust... Nevertheless, i repent, not having one on mine, it weared down hell fast...

No cover is also not the best solution, phone should be somehow protected, and that is why I always buy leather case (not wearing it on belt of course)...
no cellphone...

That's why I do not use this silicone cases or the other one that is rubberized . . . just plain - leather case for carry-on-protection ! [addsig]

I find that not having a case is fine if you just take care of your phone. Cases can be troublesome and most of all, bulky. Defeats the purpose of having a good looking phone IMO.

Valid point, shaliron, but not more valid than some people saying
the phone's "good looking" is not all that important", is it? I think this all boils down to persaonal preferences, really... there are reeally crappy cases that damage more than they protect, there are ugly good cases, good-looking good cases, most phones look better without a case etc etc... in the end: personal choice based on practicality v. looks/coolness/usability
(e.g. many cases annoying for camera phones etc etc...) [addsig]

it's nice that you are contributing, but perhaps you could find some way to disagree with people that doesn't involve the word idiot? Everyone is entitled to their reasons, it doesn't make them an idiot just because you don't think it's smart...

Have a lovely day

@atlis,
mr wedge has a point - more so because the trapped dust has already been mentioned, and there was agreement when I pointed out the trapped moisture ("micro-climate" as you put it)...
So, as your contribution wasn't all that original, you could have stated your point a little less offensively... [addsig]

You used to be able to buy little pouches a few years back made of a surf suit type substance. Whatever happened to those? I'd love something like that for my phone. I don't really want a black leather case and can't really find anything appropriate!
