The DISPARITY between the TWO maybe just some fractions in order to say who has the BEST . . . but thru experience . . . I'll go with here !

IMO, overall, SE phones are more "complete" in terms of music quality, function and display.
But if we were to single out specific phones for music, video and function, I'd say it would be between the N91 and W950.
But of course I'd sway in favour of the W950 because I'm an fan and I love touchscreen.

this is a bit off topic but i cant stop laughing when i see people comparing N-series with non smartphones from SE (correct me if im wrong, i think N-series are all smartphones right?)
and as QVGA said There is only a minor difference and its biased towards SE. The fact is, nokia didnt even advertise their product as a music phone yet it comes pretty darn close the W series.
So basing on that even SE normal phones arent smartphones ppl still cant decide wich one to choose K/W series or N-series.
And about this topic, the best sound i have heard from a phone is the w600 stereo speakers (havent tried those high end phones yet) |

we are talking here about the sound quality, not focusing on if its a symbian or not

I have a p990, a nokia 5500 and a w810. For the same headphones P990 got the best sound quality without a doubt. Nokia 5500 and w810 sound quality are almost the same. Never tried a nokia n91 but for sure is better than 5500 and almost all SE phones. If we are comparing sound quality between SE and nokia headphones than SE is the winner. But if we are comparing sound quality of the phones itself than its difficult to say because SE have some models that have better sound quality than some nokia phones and nokia have some models with better sound than some SE models. |

Well SE's in general have the better sound quality, even the low end (W300).
But Nokia generally has good quality sound when referring to the N series devices, but otherwise, especially the low end, the sound in pretty poor.

a lot of 'generally' - but it's the kind of thread, I guess. But why can my other half's w850 not totally beat even the e50 in terms of music? Sure, better/racier features...but soundwise? And what's with the w950's touchscreen/keyboard - how useful in a 'musicphone'? When k750 came out I was thrilled - oops, btw, it's a pretty good walkman as well. Now we have to accept the 'w' in front of a number as a certificate for musicality... I prefer to be surprised by surpringly good sound in a non-'music'-phone - than to find that this month's w xxx doesn't quite deliver, either. But, damn they look good!

Nokia is not that bad you know. own the K750i and the Nokia 5300 XpressMusic (so they do have a line of music phones).
The Nokia 5300 XpressMusic Features:
A2DP Bluetooth
Mini-USB
Sort Music by Artist, Album, Genre, Composer and has laylist support
A gorgeous QVGA screen (but only 262, 144 colours)
3.5mm headphone adapter
So... Nokia is not that bad. |
