And i dont feel fooled at all.. the 7250 is an ugly phone where the only differance to the 7210 is more memory and a camera!

Btw: Did YOU feel sad when the T68I came out???

I'm not complaining, I'm just pointing out facts. It was a revolution
of hi-tech, when brought out, and it's still a good one. But it's not
that advanced anymore, as so many here tend to think.

true, all too true. a 256 colour one satisfies my needs for now - not that many people have MMS-enabled phones.

---

i've read that the 7210 doesn't support animated GIFs. is this true? this would certainly become a major drawback in the future, when MMS becomes the norm. then there's also the inability to send/forward attached sounds in your MMS messages. not really a future-proof phone, in my opinion.

i've tried taking a photo for my phone book using someone else's MCA-20. there's a specific setting [can't remember the name] for 101x80 pictures. it looked pretty good.

however, a 640x480 one didn't take to the screen too well. i guess the resolution on the phonebook ones are low enough to look good. that right?

i have to agree with you about the blue 7210. it's the least offensive one. why? because the 7210 has a blue keypad. in my opinion, it doesn't gel well with any other covers.

I disagree, it goes very well with yellow, black, grey, red at least!

Quote:

oh, yes, it is fast. but which would run faster? Windows 3.11 for Workgroups or Windows XP?

Euh??? I was comparing to T68i... the UI is faster on 7210. Full point.

Quote:

my T68m's light can help me navigate my pitch-black kitchen at midnight. bright enough for you?

Show off. Buy a torch, it's much more practical.
or best, buy a Nokia 5100, it has an integrated torch.

what exactly are 'sharp' colours?

Colors. Simply.

Quote:
again, don't get me started on built-in FM radios.

Why not?
It's much more useful than Bluetooth, for me at least.

Quote:
my experience with loudspeakers hasn't been very good. [from land-line phones to the 7650 and 7210] but i'm sure, you busy yuppie, can make do with that paltry one since you need it for your daily conference calls with your colleauges, no doubt?

Have you ever used it?????
Obviously you dunno what you're talking about mate. No need for a headset and you can freely move around, hear and be heard!

Quote:
wow. you can download new games. and i thought playing the ones installed were sad enough. games that require a larger screen to pull off really shouldn't be squeezed onto a tiny screen. give me full-fat [PDA, GameBoy, PC, etc], thanks. such a feature that installs new apps would be best appreciated in a phone if it were a smartphone. [read: phone/PDA hybrid]

Don't be so narrow-minded A PS2 still has better games than a Gameboy, yet many Gameboy have been sold right??? Why not having games on a phone?

themes, backgrounds, TriBand: check, check, check.

Quote:
a usb port on your Nokia? could you point that out for me, please?
oh, that's a Pop-Port. Nokia's way of joining Ericsson's fray. by the way, Ericsson simply calls it 'the connector at the bottom of your phone'.

Yes, the Pop-port is a USB port.
Don't underestimate the power of the popport

polyphony - i think i've laid that one out already. if you want music, go listen to your [ooh!] radio.

Oh, damn! Why do we even have ringing tones on our mobiles... C'mon.
I don't want music, I want a nice ringing tone that's it.

Quote:
oh. only now you're discovering the usefulness of downloading graphics and audio over WAP and a PC Suite?

Nope. 've been able to do that for ages with other phones! Put my comment back in its context, thanks!

Quote:
ah, a dual uplink. that would be useful if you could attach audio to your MMS messages, so there'd actually be significantly more data to take advantage of dual uplinks.

What the hell are you saying? Non-sense!
YOu can send emails, pictures, or whatever! Twice as fast!!!!!
80kBytes of sound or image is still 80kBytes...

isn't it a bit dangerous to have one eye/hand on the road with another eye/hand on your Nokia to dial someone's number. i say, take adavantage of your headset, wired or wireless. [oops, you don't have *that* option] it's more than just for talking on.

Well, car kits exist! Next...

even if you don't drive, seriously: tapping away on your phone's easier and more natural than speaking directly into it?

Of course it is. But you're obviously not used to Nokia's UI fast and easy! f I want to call my girlfriend or whoever I have in my phonebook, it takes no more than 2 seconds to get the call started (without using key shortcuts!)!
And voice dial is limited to much less people than the phonebook allows...

'f course not. You don't even seem to use the features of your phone! And luckily it didn't crash while you were using to lit up your way in your black kitchen at midnite

Read your own posts, you all sound just as arrogant as him.

Ooo, Nokia is great, it has this and that its the best...
Ooo, is the best because it has this and that!!!

Just back and forward, everyday...

But really, I have to agree with some of the points aaronkhoo made.

The polyphonic ringtones aren't exactly loud, they are nice, but not loud enough. I can't even hear it when I'm in the streets in this town, with all the buses and cars, sirens, and the stupid bell sound the buses make, and the people talking, etc. Even in the stores, its still rather difficult to hear. Don't get me going about nightclubs, just impossible to hear, but I can hear the high pitched monotones of any phone, including my T68i.

As for java on a phone, I don't really care about it. What good is it? Again, I have yet to hear a good reason for Java on a phone. If its just to download games, I'd much prefer to use my IPAQ. As of right now, java on any phone is just totally limited due to the size and the limitation of the complexity a program can be on the phone. If they allowed us to totally reprogram our phones using Java, then I'd actually would find some use for it, but they don't.

As for you not needing bluetooth and you boasting about how not many people use it, guess what, I use it quite a lot, and I know many people that are starting to use a lot of bluetooth systems, from wireless networks to automatically updating your scuedule/contacts on your phone when you walk into your home or office (Which I am attempting to do). Of course there is also Wi-Fi, but both these systems have its advantages and disadvantages.

But I do think a FM radio is rather good to have on a phone when for example you are waiting in line and have nothing better to do. (Better than playing games, showing off your phone and increasing the risk of you getting robbed, especially in Europe). But still, not really needed for me as I prefer to listen to my MP3 player instead.

As for a phone being faster, have you tried a Siemens? Very fast, but of course its going to be faster when the phone has nothing on it.

About poly-tones not being loud enough in some places, that's of course true, but when your walking the streets or whatever you can simply change the profile to one thats got a regular loud sounding ringtone. About bluetooth, in my personal opinion, it's just way over-hyped and the accessories is way over-priced. But it is a relatively new technology so maybe it'll get better... And about java, if you still can't acknowledge the wide amount of content already available and it's future possibilities(it's not all about games!!), there's nothing i can do to help you out! About the fm radio, some like it some don't, but it's still nice to have that possibilito to listen to the radio whenever you want IMO! =)

Yes, I agree that some bluetooth stuff is way over priced, but I think it will drop down in the near future (next year maybe), as its very useful.

But I think the whole unpopularity of bluetooth at the moment is the price, take Wi-Fi in the US for example, it has taken off quite well and is quite cheap to use...

As for changing the polyphonic tones to be just one long ringing tone, sort of defeats the whole purpose of having a polyphonic tone. It just needs to be much louder, but I have no idea if that would be possible to do...

Most phones with poly-tones also comes with standard loud ring tones, but for those that don't you can download different free programs that converts them. =)

Super G: Euh??? I was comparing to T68i... the UI is faster on 7210. Full point.

yeah. so was i. 7210 vs T68i. what did you think i was talking about?
7210 [Win 3.11] T68i [Win XP]. clear enough for you?

Super G: Show off. Buy a torch, it's much more practical.
or best, buy a Nokia 5100, it has an integrated torch.

hey, you're the one bringing up how *bright* your 7210's backlight is.

Super G: Colors. Simply.

if you'd read my post further up, [i've made quite a few more posts since the one you're bringing up] i've already pointed out that colours cannot be sharp. they can be vibrant, rich, etc, but not sharp. that refers to the resolution. surely they teach English in French schools?

Super G: Have you ever used it?????
Obviously you dunno what you're talking about mate. No need for a headset and you can freely move around, hear and be heard!

didn't i mention that i got my aunt's Nokia 7650 for a week or so above? i also spoke on the 7210 my friend bought. [no, he doesn't have it anymore] and how far can you move from the phone? it's not exactly the same as a Bluetooth headset, is it? sure, it comes as standard on the phone, but i think i can see why.

Super G: Yes, the Pop-port is a USB port.
Don't underestimate the power of the popport

well, if you'd like to be so adamant about the Pop-Port being USB, i'd like to see you connect your 7210 to a USB-enabled device. printer/scanner/whatever.

Super G: Oh, damn! Why do we even have ringing tones on our mobiles... C'mon.
I don't want music, I want a nice ringing tone that's it.

seriously? i have no idea. i use the standard 'ring-ring'.

Super G: What the hell are you saying? Non-sense!
YOu can send emails, pictures, or whatever! Twice as fast!!!!!
80kBytes of sound or image is still 80kBytes...

excuse me? i'd like to see you try to send me an sound attachment or a GIF animation. heck, i'd like to see you *recieve* a GIF animation.

Super G: Well, car kits exist! Next...

ah! car kits! how do you dial a number on your phone while it's in there?

a) bend forward, tap around on your Nokia, *then* divert your full attention to the road.

b) say your magic word, then the name, [and if need be the type of number] eyes on the road all the time.

and a Bluetooth Headset has one tiny little advantage over a car kit - you can use it out of your car.

Super G: Of course it is. But you're obviously not used to Nokia's UI fast and easy! f I want to call my girlfriend or whoever I have in my phonebook, it takes no more than 2 seconds to get the call started (without using key shortcuts!)!
And voice dial is limited to much less people than the phonebook allows...

how much different is doing the same thing on my T68mi?

and voice dialling is meant for convinience. if you call more than 50 different people daily, you don't need a mobile phone - you need a personal secretary.

Super G: 'f course not. You don't even seem to use the features of your phone! And luckily it didn't crash while you were using to lit up your way in your black kitchen at midnite

you have a point there... what features do i actually use? hmm...

GPRS for wap surfing [yes, i use it almost daily]
IrDA between my Palm and my Ericsson
Sound Recorder for when i don't have my Palm
Bluetooth between my PC and my Ericsson for sync-ing
i also MMS frequently because my network operator is giving out free MMS usage now...

hmm... hmm... hmm... what else is there? i can't remember. feel free to point out any features i don't use, especially when you're by my side all the time. [how else would you know that i don't 'seem' to use the features on my phone?]

Ooooh really?!
Could you please tell us how on Earth you send a MMS with a T68m when you haven't ever flashed it!?!?!

I think you should rather stop posting your messages...

note the words between the asterisks. i have also refered to my phone as a T68mi perviously.

once again, i re-iterate that you have a severe lack in understanding of the English Language. here's a clearer picture:

and while i cannot speak/write French, i can speak/write Chinese. and that's because there's no such language as Singaporean.

now, i'm really sorry if i've crossed the 'personal attacks' line for some of you. i try to keep my online rants as non-personal as possible, [which is why i haven't been very active here before] but i think we're about a mile past that line now.

Sorry, I have other things to do than reading your answers to other posters... So you did upgrade your phone. I acknowledge that. Then be consistent with your own words...
