strange? I don't recall mentioning the workload was too much!?

but, if members think the current moderator level is insufficient then its not for me to argue the point though I will try even harder to keep spam away (I've had 4 such today alone), watch for fraudulent members (1 today so far), keep threads in their correct place (countless today) etc etc etc

and whats more I'm always happy to do my bit for Esato in general and to do the extra behind the scenes things to keep as much troublesome people away as possible

Happy Christmas all! Its been a great day here in Sydney!

You didn't, but your only human you can't be online 24/7 after all your a family man.

Having someone else around who maybe you can train to work at your standard and level will ease a lot of the work load off you!

I have the perfect person in mind,but its really down to you and laffen if you really want him,but i certainly think its a good idea if you did!....and no that person is not me!

I've been to some other forums where there are periodical "elections" where members nominate selected members to the post of moderators. These "special" moderators are given terms of one to three months after which there are fresh elections again. If need be these temporary mods are elevated to permanent mods. Dunno if this is feasible here, but i've seen this work very well in some other forums.

@masseur
Well I don't it is feasible for you to be online 24/7, and that's where it would help, when you're not online.

In the joke thread, once the truth arose, it quickly became a flame war, and if there was a moderator online quicker, the flame war wouldn't have gotten as big as it did.

I would agree with that.

Maybe masseur just let it all happen and was watching and enjoying the flame war from the sidelines!

masseur don't worry about some other mod stealing your thunder here,you will always be the top dog on esato and you know it,just that it is important that we have someone else around when your not available.

The NEXT potential Moderator . . . wannabee should have ALL the qualities of Masseur ! He should also be LEVEL-HEADED . . . not to be very emotional with issues at hand on a 24/7 basis, YES, it's hard . . . but he should just be - that ! Should NOT take sides . . . not included in any FACTION at Esato . . . and the most IMPORTANT one . . . should be visible in the FORUMS . . . on a daily basis . . . specially during PEAK season

But what the HECK . . . . . . . Masseur can be a one-man-army here ! [addsig]

@fatreg
Well first we need some people to push forward the idea a bit further into a real thing.

And if not, how about a report abuse system?

A report abuse forum can be very effective, as I see in a mobile phone forum here in the Netherlands.

i think people would abuse the abuse system. pm to a mod is a lot more work, and i don't think many people abuse it.
