MMS's in the UK are the cost of 3 x SMS, so that won't be cheaper.

He could send an email if his phone has email capability? Alternatively, with his "magic" Nokia that that allows you to send 900 character SMS's and only get charged for one, he could sell it on eBay, and probably get thousands for it(!)

When I had a Blackberry and used the SMS function, it had a countdown of characters in the top corner which started at 900 or so... but I was never under the illusion that I was only going to be charged 1 x SMS. Why? Because I'm not a twat.

As mentioned previously in an earlier post.... sending text messages is a cash cow for operators. They give away on average 120mins per month per customer... they gotta make money some how. The money they make from us sending SMS's enable them to give away so many free minutes a month, yet still rake in big profits. That should give you an idea of how much SMS's make for them. Nothing is free in this world.

End of thread.

Not to mention, as I stated, it costs nothing to send an SMS as the phone is always waiting to hear something. An SMS is just another piece of data. This guy might not be a twit but he needs to really rethink what he says.
*edited on a Mac of course. Mac: There is no substitute*

N82(YES), iPhone 3G, Shure es530, Nikon D300, more stuff. No more SE stuff, why am I still here?

No, he's deffo a twit. Hence his failure to apologise to the rest of us for wasting our time with what is possibly, the world's most stupid question.
