i came from a long line of nokias, and all i can say is, nokia releases phones with too much hype, inexample would be the the n90 with carl zeiss optics yet in the review in gsm arena, w800 won hands down over the n90. i guess the n series is just a series for nokia to sell a HYPED phone but performs less. my 2 cents. |

@Residenevil you know what SE can do? The only way they can make a phone that can beat the N93 is to take the best K series, the best W series and the best P series, put it in a HUGE press, and make a model of those 3,then MAYBE SE will beat Nokia, till then,as i told you P990 is already outdated

But not in that brick size and weight, please...
Nokia N93 is sooooo ugly and what's the worth to bring that heavyweight gadget for just 3MP camera. Better buy a MiniDV then.

exactly how is the N93 heavy? sure, it may be much heavier than normal phones, but are you that weak that you can't even hold 0.39 lbs? and it isn't all that "brick size", somewhat the size of a W900. i admit the N93 is kind of ugly, but most people don't give a damn, but really do give a damn about its specs. the picture quality might not be as good as a K800, but in terms of video recording, it kicks the s**t out of the K800. if you're so worried about having a "heavy" and "thick" phone, then don't bring a camera, since it is pretty "thick" and "heavy". |

Alright .... my vote is STILL the p990i, why?
Efficient use of & quality of:
Battery life, Camera Macro/AutoFocus; MediaPlayback implementation, WiFi (sure no 802.11g but we'd miss it for HUGE video file transfer in Ad-Hoc mode i.e. 256MB+ but I can deal), Touchscreen (I wont touch those HTC WinMobile variants or anything else, just crap and feeding the Demon more to own us? No thanks). Style, versatility and BlackBerry Connect to ship with! Not too mention possilbe FOTA??
Nokia has upped the anti big time and I think that the N83 if lives up to the specs will be good BUT I wont be an earlier adopter; not like those that suffered the N80 - then again firmware can change that.
I expect to see a QUICK successor to the P990i next year with the CyberShot lens system & higher Video recording which I think firmware can resolve; I just cannot stand the front design of the K790/800 so I'm looking for a WHITE w810 - I miss my music when I'm on the subway.

by the time SE hears your prayer, its likely the competition has already released more advanced phones.. and we'd be back in this situation..

The UMTS1900 functionality is urgently needed here in the US. I am missing out on 3G bigtime.

SE have lots of problems getting the P990i on to the market ! And you already speculate about a successor ? ! ? Keep in mind - they are making nice profits with the 'bottom' line up and if the 990 will cost them more then what it makes, it may go the same road the top Nokia Symbian touch-screen (7700/7710 OS90) went. As much as I like Symbian, I come to realize - it was never ment for that kind of input. Look at Wm5 if you want screen input (TyTN comes to mind) Greetings from South Africa. Mario |

Yes, size and weight of a "mobile" phone do matter to me, not because Im weak (in fact I am not weak), but we're talking about comfortability of mobile here, and also the design. Weight wise, P990 is heavier than my current W800 but it is lighter than that N93. Design wise, it looks nicer also.
Don't bring a camera? Even my Canon Ixus i-zoom IS smaller and lighter than that Nokia N93....

@Rifqi_Aziz we are not talking about DSC cameras here, the one you mentioned is a camera ment for photografy (by the way it only has 2.4x oplitcal zoom while N93 has 3x optical, and even more digital zoom). Now on the second part, yours being a DSC camera it shoots movies at a max 640x480 but only with 10 FPS(!) while the N93 shoots at same resolution but with 30 FPS (!!!).So take a look to see how heavy is a Handycam not ca small camera.

WiMax in a mobile phone/!? Ok I want what your smoking - and a few for my boyz as well. COD!
WiMax would take so much battery power that the less than 1 full day charge or 4 hrs of wifi on the N80 will be heavensent by comparison.
