If I had to choose between the two, I would have to go for the w810 as I think it's the nicer looking model.

I've got to agree about the battery life, I used to get upto 7 days with my K750i but only get 2 with the W810i, Orange are sending me a new battery to try but I think its the phone that's at fault! |

Can someone verify the standby clock? Is it just like the previous models? I'm thinking of getting a w810i and skipping the k800.

@neon, no the standby clock is not like in the k750/w800, the standby clock will show up only on pressing the walkman key/volume keys.
btw, skipping the k800 is a smart decision, it's not on my shopping list either. |

Thanks smartphn.
That kinda sucks. So the standby screen is completely blank? Thats a bit useless. How do you know if you've received a TXT or missed call, without touching the phone?
Ever since the T68m you could view the time/txt/calls in standby!

@neon, you are welcome. you have to press a key to know your missed calls/texts etc. but i still like the w810 more than the w900, the swivel on the w900 can be irritating at times. |

I'm glad you started this thread as I am having the same problem, don't know whether to get the w800 or w810. I need to know a lot more about the w810 before making a decision, so appreciate any info you can give us, pros & cons and all.

If you are into music go for the W800 because 4GB memory stick pro duos are already available and 8GB just around the corner. The W810 uses memorystick micro and they are only available in 1GB at the moment... If all thats not important for you go for the W810

No, thats not true.W810 uses memory stick pro duos too.
The drawbacks of w810 are: lack of cam shutter, clock, higher price, smaller internal memory (less memory for games and apps), batt life.
The upgrades: broadband, themes that change icons, screen.
The design is a personal thing, aswell as the joystick.
Just figure out whats more important to u and how much u r willing to spend, thats it. |

I have has both and so far im happy with the w810. The design feels more solid all round. For example the rubber memory slot cover is more hard and not soft like was on the w800. The camera shutter will be missed but if you look after your phone and not keep it in your pocket with coins and keys ect, then it will not be damaged. Ive seem w800s with the lens dirty purley down to users not looking after the phone. As for batery life so far ive had it 3 days and its still going. This is with constant bluetooth transfers as well as mp3 and video playback in use.
People take for granted how good SE battery lifes are normally and although the w810 might be slightly less in spec we have tgo remember that it is still far better that pretty much any other phone on the market.
The video recording is debatable but i mean ive had both and for me the w810 video seems less so slightly better in my opinion. If it were 3g that would be great but for now GSM does just fine for me as the only thing i used to download were footy clips but the downfall of that is that they were locked to the phone only and could not be transferred. So i just convert my own clips in better resolution and enjoy them that way. If networks really want to enhance 3g they have to take of the restriction. |

Hmmm I see. It's only the K800 and K790 that use the micro's right? In that case I would definately go for the W810
