< is a joystick movement to the left
> is a joystick movement to the right
* is the * key on your keypad (bottom left)
this sequence takes you to the service menu

The soft pad/ button belllow the joystick is prone to wearing out over time, so tis not really bout 'build quality' IMO, as someone said.
T310 was the one I used (its still there) quiet long and had to 'ultimately' get internals replaced.. Quote:
