Hello all. I have a k700i and before that a t610 and before that a t68i. All 3 gave me some problems with the joystick you know not responding and lagging... So i go into the service menu (>*<<*<*) and then to service tests and then to keyboard and i repeatedly keep pressing the direction which is not responding till it gets good and running. You can also do this in the main menu(just go around the icons). Hope this hepls.

Yeah, that's what I do with my PC too when it does not boot up: I repeatedly press the power on button till it finally boots.
But, of course, that's why I did not post here for the last two months.

Not only that, but usually a non functionning joystick is only because of dirt and dust. Or at least that's what I have read in many posts here. The way to remove the problem for good is to open the phone and clean it. Or alternatively blow air from a pressurized can through the small interstices around the joystick.

I think what he means is to put the phone in a mode where pressing the joystick repeatedly won't start any function. Then of course, pressing many many times will eventually remove or displace the dust and the joy will work again.

sorry maybe i didn't make myself clear. i just keep pressing in the unresponsive direction. it doesn't matter if you are in the test menu or main menu or anywhere else.i just go to the test menu to see if it registers all the directions coz you can't see this in the main menu. anyway i think it is dirt that makes this problem coz it occurs when i don't use the joystick for a while.

OK, but in addition I do think that it is better to put the phone in a mode where pressing repeatedly the joystick in one direction does not launch a function, like for example initiating a call or whatever. So going first in the main menu or the test menu brings two advantages.
