If it were the W900, i'd have chosen it over the N70..bUT against thW w8..its the N70 by a huge margin...

For me, it offers basically everything the W8 does plus more...
T230 >> T610 >> Ngage QD >> N73 >> N85 >> Omnia HD >> And countless other review units

I dont like to be biased as this is of course and SE related site and i myself am an SE fanatic. And of course I'd buy the w8 over the N70 any day, that is, of course considering the fact that I always bring my souped up hp rx3715 PDA.

In terms of looks, I'd bet the n70 would have looked better in the sense of those business minded ones, but for the yuppies and those closer to nature, the w8 would have looked best if not better(which I am). When it comes to functionality, I'd say the n70 performs better when compared to N70, but come on, let's admit it, the sybian softwares are somewhat, you know, slow or sluggish or any adjective to denote it as less responsive software wise. So if you're really in to having apps. , might as well get a separate PDA, but for an all in one device, mind having an N70? Now for the multimedia, yes, the 1 g DV Rs MMC is already available, but where and when would it arrive, I mean, I barely see 1G DV's out there when compared to 1 or 2 GB MSD Pros. Camera wise, ain't nothin go'n beat w8's, k750's and w9's. I mean, besides the fact that SE is continually releaseing FWs to enhance the camera and functionality(w/ an unexpected bugs and the likes), those fones have a AF (N90 is the only one in the Nokia line) and another is that it has flash! flash?! yes, flash! finally, a flash in a fone, and not an LED! I'd give a bucktooth to any1 hu cn give me one ready for any nokia or atleast beat the price of the MXE-60 and still fit a nokia. And another, for the on the go personality, the w800 can be used as a plug and play flash disk, a functionality i always use.(just bring over your cable). Now turning to symbian Nokia, I like the way they can play multiplayer games on the fone just like what my fellows do when playin billiards and Explode on their symbian. But it sucks though especially everytime my mom comes to me to have her sucky 6260 flashed after having all those virus in her fone, i think there's already a symbian anti-virus, but come on! a virus? in a fone? sh*T! that really sucks, especially when that fone is an N-Series that just came out of the box. And audio wise, the feel alone would want you to use the w8 rather than an N, for the reason that a W fone feels like an Mp3 player embedded with a fone rather than an N which feels like a fone with an mp3 player.. perspective, really. And i know for one that the W produces better sound in a headfone or HIFI, i've tested them myself, though the W produces lesser volume when compared to a real mp3 player, the N is still DBs away when compared, and the W even has a 5 band equalizer to fine tune ur tunes.

To sum it all, I like the N70, don't get me wrong, but for those who already has a PDA or just would like an all in one "cute candybar-mp3-video-2mpx cam with AF-Looker" fone, then the W800 is your choice.

1Gb dv is available widely now and the funny thing is the price is 50% cheaper than equivalent msd. Can u beat this logic.

You must be a bad boy installing all those cracked software in your mum's phone. Otherwise, it is very very difficult to get virus on the phone.

You are wrong. N70 produce better sound when used with 3rd party MP3 player. Due to limited ROM space on the W-series, to save space the included MP3 player in W-series is a cut down version. Same case with the stock N70 player. But unlike a W-series, you can buy and install a full-fledged MP3 player (with advanced/intelligent decoding algorithm and full-specced multi-band parametric equalisers) in the N70. The sound will blow away the W-series.

maybe u should take out the video part. Video recording on W800 sucks big time compared to N70.

"The W800 is far better in terms of camera and music functionality, but the N70 is better in terms of all round performance and customisability and upgrade (in the sense that there's more app's available, full internet access etc...). I suppose the big question is, do you need to use it for the additional app's/ office capabilities? Or does your lifestyle push you more towards the entertainment side of things? :-)" I was thinking the same thing. It all comes down to what u need. If I were u i'd go with the N 70 and that's cuz I want all the Symbian apps not cuz I love that plasticky, cheap brick of the n70.

So what you're saying is that N70 will produce on par sounds with 3rd party headphones connected through the adapter ? Well, what about the test that Fin magazine conducted wihich produced like secondary results for N70?

if you are after the sound quality and camera quality, then go for the w800i.
or more into business class and pdf files and word files, then n70 is your choice, it depends on your needs.

Can anyone explain to me why is so important ( extremly important) to some of you at least, who has got 'the edge' ? For goodness sake is only cellphones we talk about. Yes I personaly do have cellphone shares but I will never debate about them like this (borders to mental disorder) I fly a lot and there is important to discuss the gear you are using because your life literarely depends on it, but a cellphone . . . Huh some of you really need to get a life. All the companies give a sh!t about you, they only worry about their pockets - and their share holder's

3:How do you rate the N70's sound quality Good...Very good....Awesome.

A well established Finnish technical print magazine had a group test of media mobiles, N70 among them. Unfortunately not W800 but W900 and W550.

If you ever have read audio/hifi reviews you know the frequency response. This test was unique by measuring the audio output of these mobile phones (not their headsets). Have you seen a review of mobile phone with published frequency responce of it's media player? Please tell me.

Surprisingly N70 has a highly customized output in order to counterweight the less than perfect frequency response of the included headset. On the other hand SE's phones give linear output, which is desired, as you probably know already.

Today's lesson: if you want best output from N70 you are bound to Nokia accessories. Nokia can do business... seems like.

You need a headphones with high impedance to improve the bass, like the 120Ohm curve shows above.

that explains why those fones gives such a light sound, whereas the w series gives more weight and more details in the audio... w550 produced more bass than the w900, that explains why it can allow three loud speakers...

@mlb1800
that's ok mate, peace, its christmas season and i understand your undying love for fones, jst cant help but give my few cents regarding the fone, but, you should read what i wrote, as you said im a naughty boy.. it's rather profound for a person who doesn't like symbian os to actually spare his time in installing those softwares... try goin' to our country, turn on your bluetooth and move around any mall, i'd bet after awhile, you'll get one of those virus. peace.
