Airtel mumbai has finished beta testing of 3g 2 months back,they think that by december network will be open for 3g subscriptions.airtel and tata has applied for licence. |

LOL @ sailaab...In South Africa we pay on average (depending on your provider) US30 cents per Megabyte. You could even get cheaper rates if you're on a data plan from either MTN or Vodacom.

@Brix- Thats fair enuf. With Organe/ Hutch in India we are paying about the same (taxes incl.) .. however the ire and anguish you see here is coz its taken for granted to get stuff free/ cheap. I used Orange's promo offer for over two and half years that allowed 'limited' ( certain wap sites going against Orange/ Govt policy) wap access with no d/load restriction at a fixed rate, lil over USD 1 !! Now ofcourse using as much by paying 7-8 times that amount. Nobody has a Gun to their head, to use XYZs service

@sai, well spoken. Most people had taken for granted that operators would not charge on basis of data volumes. Mind you, hutch as well as airtel have always presented their unlimited plans as *promotional*. I wouldn't be surprised if airtel announces a change in gprs tariffs soon.

I pay 99/- p.m. for unlimited usage for airtel mobile office. Mms is charged at rs. 3/- per mms.
