You'll be able to change the cover on the T300, and the T300 has a colour screen that the cheap Nokias don't have, Java, joystick will probably the kids like to. |

yes but who will you use java? most of the people that buy a nokia 3xxx phone or the T300 wont even know what java is so no need to put it on every phone yet. maby in the new T68i2 there will be java. |

T300 does not have Java. It has downloadable games written using the Mophun platform (www.mophun.com) but no Java... This is the first phone that will support this kind of games. I guess SE thinks it's smarter than the other phone manufacturers which all seem to be going with J2ME. Some of them also use BREW, but not SE, they had to use something completely different and incompatible with the rest...

I still think SE designs are crap... just like the new Nokia's too... did they all fire their GOOD designers and hire some weird rave designers or something???? Or did they all just burn out?
The T68 is an ERICSSON design, NOT a SonyEricsson. SE hasn't released a good design at all! They were on the right track with their first concept communicator w/ Memstick Duo... then all of a sudden, they come out with the P800??!?!?!?! I love the features... love the screen... but baby blue and white??!?!?! Not even a decent silver or metal body? Even the old Ericsson jet black would make it look more elegant... but BLUE AND WHITE?!?!?!?!? I know this is like a Japanese thing... but come on... ONE AVAILABLE COLOR ONLY?!?!?!?!?!
And the T300... I'm sorry.... too little, too late. This should've been released at the same time as the T68i. T68i for high-end, T300 low-end... but the key would've been to release them at the same time.

I've used Ericsson phones for years, starting with the GH688 upto the SH888 and lastly, a sony J5/70. All superb phones IMO.
The J70 went tits up, so I bought a T65. Big mistake, the signal holding was crap, always up and down like a yo-yo, the menus were slow and text messaging was painfull. I thought it was a duff phone but the replacement was the same. Tried an R520 also but its too big.
Ericsson seem to have problems with their internal antennae design, reviews tend to slate them for poor signal responce which puts me off the T66, T68/i straight away.
The new SonyEricsson phones do little to make me want to buy them. Looks like they've been designed by the My First Sony team. Yuck!
So, with hesitation and regret, I've gone over to Nokia and to be honest, I'll never look back.

what is you're problem...
all of you are complaining about SE being too slow...
at least they have good phones. Nokia comes with software problems, loss of network and just go to Off.
what do you want, i preferthe good phone, even when it's late... or shall we say that nokia is too early...
I work in a SE and Nokia service center, i should know...

I don't think the T300 is "too little too late". The only color phones on the market right now are T68 and Samsung T100, and Alcatel also have a color phone (I've never seen that one in any shops though). All present color phones are quite expensive.
The T300 will be the first color phone with a low price tag. I think the T300 can be a huge success. Nokia/Siemens/Motorola isn't anywhere near the functionality/price of the T300.
Nokia is just doing what they have always done. Take almost the exact same phone and release it as a new one. No innovation at all.

Hi Guys,
Well, I think this is not a big fuzz. Ericsson (or SonnyEricsson) are always slow in producing handsets but this doesn't mean is not good. See, they usually conduct a soft launch of their handset in order to conduct specific surveys on their new handsets and users' expectations. From here, they will try to enhance or fix the bugs in the handset. Besides, from here they will know whether their new handset getting good response or not, the right time for the actual launch, etc. Well, I must agreed that SonyEricsson produced good features handsets, it is just that user may not expose much to the new range of products. I'll say that Ericsson (or SonyEricsson) started to get back its response on its product beginning from the well featured and stylish T39. Products from T39 onwards are tremendously good stuff, example T68i. Many people came to witness this handset during its launching all over the world. It is not a matter Ericsson or Sony is producing these handsets as they are one now. All I can say is that SonyEricsson has a new life now and this new life has a range of products that the world are slowly but surely getting to know and realize the best of SonyEricsson. Time will tell it all and I believe, Nokia is shaken! Badly shaken! I heard Nokia 7650 ain't doing good. Just wait for the SonyEricsson's P800. This is where the SonyEricsson rocks the world!!! |

I've NEVER bought any other brand except Ericsson. My first phone was an Ericsson GH688. I've had almost every handset they've made since.
My gripe about the T300 is that, by the time it comes out... the T68m/i will be almost the same price already! It may not matter to US whether SE makes phones early or late... but it does matter from the business side! If the masses don't buy your phones, you don't make money.
If the T300 was released at the same time as the T68i... and priced at half the T68i's price... SE would've/could've made a HUGE comeback. And I mean a REAL comeback. The kind that could've placed them in either the #2, or even the #1 spot in 2-3 quarters!
The tech game is all about timing... not too early (Iridium anyone?) and not too late. You HAVE to take advantage of public interest, and your window of opportunity is very small... but it's such a waste on how many chances SE has had since the launch of the T28 to take the lead but failed to do so.
I will always be a loyal Ericsson/SE customer... but it doesn't change the fact that they aren't being aggressive enough.
Design-wise, I think they should get some Production Designers from the MIB movie. Or Philippe Stark to design a classy phone... or DUH... why not the old Ericsson Design team??!?!?! (God forbid their new phones would actually look as good as the T28!) |

I don't think the price for the T68i will drop anytime soon, when they are now introducing the T68i to the US for sale.
The price has actually been holding at $400-$450 for a quite a while.

Will there even be a T300 in the US?
Hard to tell though, I thought they'd never start selling the T68 in the US, but they are now.
Infact, most people here have no idea what the P800, T300, T200, is. They barely just found out about the T68 with a cool color screen.

If the T300 is really US$220 (Even better at $200 or lower) then SE really does have a chance. Although I still think they should've made it look like the T65 instead. |

Ericsson has warned that it will not continue to put money into its joint venture with Sony Corp if it does not show results. The company has not specified what results would be considered acceptable, but said that it would stop production of mobile phones and end the joint venture if results did not appear within the next two or three quarters. Despite ranking fifth worldwide in market share, the venture posted a surprise second quarter loss. A Sony spokesperson said that the company would continue to support the venture.
mmmmmmm only time will tell
