I got my W800 today and I am very dissapointed by the headset.
Useless!
Sorry but that was a bit of a downer.
The loudspeakers are way under dimentioned.
Tried a propper headset instead (my neighbours son use it when he plays CS) and the sound was right out fantastic! On full blast and with Mega Base on there was not a fraction of disturbance.
Got a call when testing it and replied on the answer button on the mic and it worked fine. Only downer there was the sound of the voice in the other end nearly blew my head off!

I'll be picking up a W800 in the morning and plan to use my Sony MDR-EX71SL right out of the box
If the W800 headset is like the K750, the buds are just slightly too big for my ears and so a little unconfortable

No, they are smaller.
There is actually 3 different sizes in the box so one of them ought to fit you.

Actually, the ear buds that come with the W800's HPM-70 headset are very similar to the ones on the MDR-EX71's. However, they're not the same. I think that they're more like the lower quality EX51's. I ended up swapping out the ear buds on my HPM-70 for the EX71's. I think that the stock HPM-70 ear buds sound a bit better/fuller at low volumes (especially when using the Mega Bass setting), but the EX71's are a lot better at louder volumes. Besides that, the EX71's fit in my ears better (they both use replaceable silicone ear buds, but the ones on the EX71's are much softer and grip your ears better than the ones on the HPM-70), and I absolutely can't stand the neck boom they've added to the HPM-70 headset (as it always pulls the ear buds out of my ears). It's still and awesome headset though as it allows you to use any headphones you want via it's 3.5 mm jack on the headset's mic. |
