I emailed SE UK support the other day, and received this reply today:

"Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Call Centre regarding the updates for the K850i handset.

There are updates available currently for this handset. However new updates are always in development. These will be available via the Sony Ericsson website. Unfortunately we do not have a date for the updates being released.

Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again for further help and support."

So they are completely clueless.

Guys, the response is an automatic one chosen by a SE representative from a bank of pre-made responses. Nothing to get hyped out about.

Believe me I did my WE there ... was quite fun....the staff I mean

Anyway all I wanted to say is that we should just move on with our lives, not get accustomed to this unpredictable FW .... Not trying to sound like a sage or anything..... But that is what I did, when the R1CA037 FW came out I updated, forgot about the FW and k850, then out of curiosity came onto these forums to find out that R1DA038 is out.

Hope I helped people detach themselves from these forums - If not - I challenge you "lot" to a game of Halo 3!

PS. Currently ranked 1158 on the World leaderboard!

Should just spam them with emails until they bow to their customers and grant their needs, rather then us fuelling their evil domination and supporting their inferior products

EDIT:

My email said the following:

"Thank you for your query regarding the firmware on your Sony Ericsson K850i.

Firmware updates are released by Sony Ericsson for handsets with generic software. This firmware is also distributed to network providers, who must firstly approve and customise the firmware for customers using handsets with network-customised software. Unfortunately this is never a smooth process in the sense of all firmware updates for all networks being available at the same time, and some providers do take longer than others to release firmware. We have no estimated timescale of firmware updates here at the call centre, so it might be worth discussing this matter with 3 directly.

Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again for further help and support."

who says i (and others) are not going on with our lives? thats not even the point. The point is i paid for a high-end phone and i expect SE to fix the bugs within an acceptable time period. Heck, there shouldnt even be so many major bugs in the first place on such a high end phone.
