@jonc74
Its no longer a safe bet, as CPW have added a clause to the Terms & conditions, mind you, the CPW P9 was available free & with the fast downgrade for a LONG time (& well documented on Esato) from early November till Christmas.
Best act quickly whenn you see a bargain cos the popularity itself will close the loophole for sure.
I advise anyone who did the scam & bought on a tariff where a payment by credit card was involved for the phone, & hhave the latest type of reciept, to change your card details (loosing your cardit will automatically do it as your new replacement card will be a different number) as CPW have the right to take £250 from your card if they feel you have bought the phone with the intention of dropping down early.
This will give you a stronger position if you decide to argue about it with them. as they will be forced to send you a bill
Reminder; milk, sugar, crisps, post letter.

the thing that pisses me off is that because people take the piss out of the tariffs it means the prices have now gone back up again. in o2 retail p900 used to be free on o2 400 (45 pound/month) now its 280 on any tariff -be it o2 30 or o2 10000. i reckon its cos of the amount of people downgrading so just not financially viable. if only people would just understand the reason behind the 3 months and accept it....and let more more people get this great product and join esato!!

@theboytheycallharrypotter, ER.......... but the P9 hasn't been out for 3 months yet so it would be impossible to do any accurate figures on who downgraded or not, as many could decide to upgrade again for the rest of the contract (just one example of how random it all is) if you read the "Mail on Saturday" yesterday you would have noticed a story in the finanial part about CPW directors & their HUGE bonus's they personally got TENS OF MILLIONS OF POUNDS each, they are doing just fine, & for your info, they announced the post Xmas price hike back in early December, dont tell me you would refuse a bargain through fear of other (Less alert people) losing out

You are missing the point that these cheap P900's were not stolen, they were not got through illegal means we just saw a loophole it was THEM who wrote their Terms & conditions NOT US, look at all the free advertising they got, thats how business works matey.

I have noticed in your previous posts that you feel very strongly about providers, o2 in particular (i think you work for them) you show concern for them making enough profit, well what make you think they have a right to make profit AT ALL, in a fair world, they should only take what they need to survive, anything extra is fair game.on some tariffs they end up getting over a grand for a P9 so it all evens out in the end.

i know fair point..im just really frustrated (i have the blisters to prove it) i suppose cos i want to sell these beasts but cant cos people now unwilling to pay 280 for them because they were free and now expect it. the xda 2 is selling more at the moment in o2 retail and no discount on them at all because they were never discounted. i dont blame people for wanting a deal (i did the same thing but i knew it to be three months even though nothing in t & cs), for me its common practise. like with most things its a dodgy loophole because you are agreeing to the terms which can be changed by operators.
just a quick one fella, where do you get your duo sticks -ive looked on l8shop, directmobileaccessories and just want one a little cheaper.
(as an aside us in retail could buy the xda2 sim free for £150!!-so now proud owner of xda, xda2, p900, etc... but best is car100!)
cheers

Well i sourced two 128 duo's from @Massuer, but thats all he had, best price has always been Amazon as far as i can see.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005K4O2/torijay-21/202-5435682-8729469

I surfed for a bit on a friends XDA11, nice but very similar to my old HP Ipaq, nice & small but still a bit to big for me.
