Here's another one, albeit older.

The transitions are pretty nice. So is the response time.

it doesn't look as responsive as they had it before, but i'm sure its because it's a prototype. Upset that it doesn't have a 3.5 mm jack though, but that shouldn't be a problem aas long as it works with my hbh980

The handwriting & stylus are one of THE most important features of both my W960 and my lovely Nokia 5800XM.
I use my devices as electronic notepads almost every day and I can write twice as fast as anyone trying to tippy tap my colleague with his soppy iPhone was left for dead in the last meeting we attended!
Then he had to ask me to Bluetooth my notes over, which is something else you cant do with an iPhone 3g!
The hand writing recognition SW on the 5800 is very good allowing you to write characters as you want NOT as the device says you must (Learn SE Learn) In short without handwriting recog I might as well buy a blackberry!
just for once listen to the user:
We need a stylus that fits well in the hand is big enough for writing and is firmly secured to the device. We need a jog wheel or D pad, simple menus and NO childish finger gestures, leave that for the kiddies who want an iPhone. We need a decent device search feature like the 5800, and a walkman music player with bookmark and sleep timer is essential.
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot. |

IDOU a multimedia phone..
Sonyericsson is the first mobile company uses handwriting recognition (p800) so yes the company listens to people needs...
stylus included in the package but again this is not a business phone..
17 million iphones are not used by children only i think....
The only thing i want SE to improve to this phone is a better battery...
1000mah is A SAME for IDOU!!!

Will the Idou have the same Os as the Nokia N97 with SE's own skin, or will it actually have a totally new Symbian Foundation OS? And am I right in saying the phone is the same size as HTC's Magic, going by the measurements on the web, also is it a given that Sat Nav software like Route 66 or CoPilot will be launched on the OS? |

Wow, great find. It's not as fast as I thought it would be and where's the accelorometer? Still gives a great idea of the software and where it's going. It's not as sleek as Apple's or Palms OS though , I would say on a level with Android, but it will multitask and has thousands of apps from the of and the software is no doubt VERY early. Hmmm.
I really am split now between this and the Palm Pre, but I like to have my Sat Nav software with turn by turn instructions on my phones with lil BT GPS, and I'll more then likely be able to just install that ever one I want at launch with this OS, with Palm their is NO support for this from launch.
Well I have always been an SE smart phone fan. Plus will Palm still be in business in a year or 2? |

Will for that matter?
Hopefully the answer will be in the positive.

Haha, I thought of that but I'm pretty sure their more secure then Palm, yes the balance sheets have been shocking but the rest of it just seems petty squabbling and no doubt mixed up by the media. But with the Symbian Foundation OS on board then the usability suddenly dynamites through the roof and takes Nokia head on!
As much as I like the Palm Pre, it won't record video ala Android and Apple, out the box, and it certainly won't have Sat Nav like CoPilot or Tom Tom available, it's unproved and I want it sim free, which is yet to be seen, may be a locked carrier exclusive in the UK yet.
I actually ignored this forum for ages cause I was obsessed with the Pre but when I think about what important to me over the pretty interface, the Pre can't do it, Idou can. Out the box that is anyway.
I also use pay as you go, and the Pre is primarily an online cloud based system. |
