@ rickster2kuk - im using R1AA008 firmware, with camera software v4.5
IMO the K750i's still photo quality has never changed since the original launch firmware. Ive always had the same amount of noise, comparative file sizes and results from different camera software versions. I think SE have only updated the video quality in terms of raw quality since they downgraded it back in June to help the phones stability, and reinstated it back in September. I just think the difference in still photo software is its simply fasther to process the image captured only, and not to do with image quality.

Hi etaab,
1. Does your phone camera also exhibit the vertical lines found on dark objects like the one on this thread:
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=115170
Those vertical lines also appear on pictures of dark-colored objects (e.g., black shirt) even on well-lit scenes (daylight).l
2. Also a favor, could you try taking a shot from your K750 (auto-white balance, night mode off, light off, 1632x1224 resolution, fine setting) while completely covering the lens area with your hand so that all you see on the screen is totally black. And could you please post it here for comparison?
Here's the picture taken from my W800 with the same setup as above, it's very noisy:
That horizontal noise pattern usually shows up on pictures taken at night, even while on night mode:
Thanks.

@ DiGiTza - thats up to you. I prefer to just host them.
@ Guy89 - great shopping mall picture, i love the glider. Also, the sky is white because its overexposed against the rest of the picture. Its a common problem we all get, with all cameras. To avoid it, you either need to aim higher to get some cloud texture (giving the phone time to adjust to the brighter part of the image), or aim lower and cut more of the sky out.
@ kristianm
1. yes, i get the same noise and horizontal / vertical lines, but not very often anymore, because ive learnt why the camera creates them, and how to avoid them.
Basically, you need to take a picture where the whole scene is well lit. For example, in your link to the picture of a dog, the dog is well lit, but the floor below the dog is not as well lit and shows the noise / lines. Basically, try to supply light to all of the picture before taking it to avoid that happening. Heres an example of one of mine taken today. I took a picture out of the window, outside it was going dark, but bright enough not to show any noise. However, indoors it was dark, so the window frame shows some noise because they arent as well lit as the outdoor scene:
I never really get them during daylight, unless i take a picture which has heavy shades, for example a bright sunny day, but behind a tree its very dark because of the shadow cast by the tree.
2. Sure, here is mine, with the exact same settings, same firmware, taken in a completely dark room with my hand over the lens too.
Here is yours:

Here is mine:
http://img226.imageshack.us/img226/395/noisepicture8if.jpg
They look almost identical to me, mine has just as much noise as yours, they're just slightly different because noise is fairly random.
I hope you dont think there is a problem with your phone, because i dont think there is. I think you're possibly expecting too much from the phone, especially when it does not have a flash built in. I dont get much noise because i rarely take dark pictures, and when i do, i dont tend to post them here, and because ive learnt how to avoid getting lots of noise.
Btw, those other 2 pictures your posted, the first does not suprise me theres noise in it, its a completely dark picture with very bright lights in it. The second, is probably spoiled because you probably didnt use the photolight, and that the desk at the top of the picture is where the K750i has attempted to focus its brightness on. Remember, cameras such as the K750i's adjust automatically to the brightest point of the picture. To remove noise from that picture, you should have put the phone completely under the desk away from any other brighter surfaces / scenes.

Personally, i dont rate the still picture quality of the D600 against the SE 2mp cameraphones.

etaab, doesn't the flash accessory that Sony Ericsson has for the K750 do well in low light? I remember seeing one example and I think it handles well and almost zero noise.
Anyone with that accessory?
