I have 2 SIM cards:one for Vodafone GR and one for Wind GR.Although both networks support HSDPA,only in Vodafone i get the H symbol in most regions and sometimes i get the 3G symbol when HSDPA is out of coverage. In Wind GR i get 3G constantly regardless the presence of HSDPA technology...So,it might be a network issue.Maybe(in my case) Vodafone sends different signals for 3G and HSDPA whereas Wind sends the same signal(3G for both HSDPA/3G).I have R1CA029,mediterranean CDA.

Hi
Heres my 10 pence worth.
i'm on firmware R1CA029 on 02 and i've had the 3G, H and E symbols all come up in different places...But not when at home..
My flash seems to sync perfectly...only probs ive had is the shutter not opening on the cam... Switch it off and on again and its fine.
Other than that i think its a great phone. Works flawlessly with the "Blue & me" system in my Fiat too.

Which watch are you using? I'm looking for a MBW-100 which SE dont list as compatable but I dont see any reason why it wont work. Dont want music control just the caller ID stuff.
It's the MBW-150 (Walkman Edition). If you connect the watch AFTER connecting the handsfree, it doesn't always stutter (so I suspect there's some code to allow the use of both, but it's not written very well). The text is still a bit odd looking though (only for track ID, as Caller ID works fine with strong bold text).
I'm sure it can and will be fixed, considering this isn't an issue on other models using earlier Walkman/Media Player software.

If I've understood correctly, the new firmware (which isn't yet available on the SEUS) actually has different letters to indicate which type you are connected to, whereas the original firmware says "3G" regardless.
I would need to do a speed test, but I'm sure I am using HSDPA on Orange. I therefore believe it's a network thing (Vodafone sending information to identify it's HSDPA that other networks aren't).
There's a lot of diffferent infrastructure out there, and we all know how previous SE/Ericsson handsets have had problems with some Nokia switching equipment (now Nokia Siemens) so I guess we shouldn't be surprised.
Anyway, it means the old (first) firmware will sometimes show H, depending on the network you are on.
Doesn't Vodafone use Ericsson switching equipment?

Another thing I've noticed on the new/latest firmware (R1CA037) is that I've now got "H" instead of 3G. Previously the phone only ever said 3G, even in areas where I now have HSDPA (and have had with other handsets).
This explains alot!!! Had just returned home to UK on flight into Heathrow, when I turned my phone on it had a 'H' instead of '3G' and I was very confused!!!
Cheers for th info

Also just noticed a really annoying bug!!!
When you are reviewing your photos using the camera review thing (with the slide switch) it works great untill you have looked at a photo to long and the screen goes drak (screen saver!) but you can't make the screen come back unles you turn the camera review off and start again!!!
Really annoying!
Anyone else found this???
Also...
My K850 won't charge up when in USB mode and connected to the PC! Any ideas??? |

I noticed another little bug yesterday in the media player. When you start and stop a song in rapid succession, the audio crackles! Not what I would expect from a good phone. Theres another one for the list, on the old firmware. |

I'm still on the first firmware and my phone shows H symbol when I'm in Stockport.
I don't think it has anything to do with the firmware update.

Try to check in "Service menu", if charging from USB is enabled. |

i just wanted to know,
do you lot reckon the "operation failed" problem regarding texts/games and application menu's, so many people have experiencing will be fixed once you install the new firmware??? whenever that gets released.
i really do not want to send my phone back as i have no other orange phone(new phone, on new monthly tariff) and thus will not be contactable, which will piss my manager of severely, or do i have to just bite the bullet and just do it? |

I find that it's a problem with the standby part of it cos when you use the camera on/off button to turn it off the picture returns momoteraly before being turned off!!!
I say wait for new firmware if your boss will kill you! |
