i just upgraded my firmware to HK R1N035 from my old R1L002 but now my camera doesn't work!!!!! i reflashed it but it doesn't work what do i do?????????? |

Personaly i donīt recommend an upgrade of your firmware if you where happy with the old one. You only get a new set of problems with your phone (see this forum and others about software/firmware)

Actually I've been using my w800i for about a month now and I am happy with R1L002. My only problem with it was sound volume was quite low when in walkman mode. Unfortunately I had already gone through the process of updating it before reading all about the problems plaquing the FW released after R1L002. Right now my software still is R1L002 despite the updating process and seeing with my own eye the bar go up to 100%. I don't want to update anymore and I want to stay with R1L002 despite low volume. That's why I was asking if updating deletes all the data and if the update has been successful or partly successful, because I have some apprehensions my software is now a combination of R1L002 and R1N035 and have inherited all the bugs and glitches of both versions as a result of the botched updating. Thanks for your help!  |

updating does not delete any date, and you do not have a combination firmware.
You either have R1L or R1N, if it went through the update and still says R1L, then it just updated with R1L because for some reason R1N were not available.
Dont worry, if youre happy with R1L, just leave it at that and wait untill another update comes along that you wish to update to after its been "tested and approved" by other visitors in this thread.

Just upgraded to the generic R1N035 (K750i) via Total Multi Server, everything went and is going fine.
I haven't experienced any Memory Card faults but have yet to use power on the battery (known 20% increase when calling). |

I to updated my firmware yesterday from R1L to R1N035
No problems with updating it, i had never done this before.
There is a definate improvement in signal reception.

Mem stick corruption occurs when un docking from usb or switching off pc while docked after writing to mem stick. It is not possible to stop usb device via icon in system tray. I ve unplugged usb from docking station and use memory card reader to store files to phone. Beware if you store games or ring tones to mem stick. Suspect write enable is still active after copying to mem stick hence on to docking random writes occur.

Well... I updated my W800 to R1A005 yesterday.
I tried copying a big file to the Memory Stick and it worked (an episode of Desperate HouseWives...). I don't know if there is no bug anymore (since before, sometimes also worked when copying some files).
Also, the MP3 from the earphones is NOTICEABLE louder than before... so I recommend someone on R1N035 to go and update (if is available) to this version. It won't get worse than R1N....

We have the same phone model and firmware. Question: Have you noticed crappy, hissing sound when listening to soft songs on lowest volume? Sometimes you can only hear it in quieter passages of the song but itīs clearly there. And i donīt have super hearing. And if i listen to "older" recordings, with not as strong loudness as nowadays, the one can clerly hear the hissing/distortion. Iīm just wondering..
I heard from two persons on this forum that have experienced the same problem as i have.

Yes, the hissing and static like noise still exist, though it is less obvious at higher volume level (4 bars and more) compared to R1N035. |

Well yes... it's there. Haven't noticed since I always use it louder...
Does it happen also with the earphones or only with the loudspeaker?
And didn't it happened in R1L002?

"Good" to hear that iīm not the only one that have experienced this hissing on low volume! And i like to listen to both loud and low music depending on what iīm doing. I donīt hear any emprovement since i left R1N035 for R1A005.
As i wrote in the thread-R1NA005 for the W800- iīm going to try to make SE to fix this (wich they canīt for now) or give me a new phone with the first/earliest firmware.
I can hear the hising in both speaker and ear phones. |

Hi there ! I'm coming back with another problem.
Since nearly 10 days, i noticed some bugs in the display of my K750i R1N035 EMEA_6, updated from R1L002 and R1J002.
It started with some errors in displaying UI. (the human interface or menu), like transparent boxes and sometimes the theme isn't displayed correctly with some missings...like no theme were there. (more often when in java or after quitting java). Next, the activity menu have lost all the shortcuts. Next, the 4 shortcuts (direction button) disappears everytime i turn on the phone.
Last week, strangely, I was listening to mp3's, and when i pushed the button on the left, to write sms, i noticed that all the shortcuts disapeared without turning the phone off and on as usually. So, I removed the battery and replace it again and when turned the phone on, it flashed white screen and then went off. I tryed thousends time to turn it on but, nothing ! It flash white screen then off. I went to internet SEUS, tryed recovery mode, it went to 100% but the problem still remain. So, I went to my friend (professionnal flasher/decoder), he used Griffin, and fixed my phone. Everything was ok. So, I took advantage of the situation and asked him to make the customisation to EUROPE_5 (4 languages take less memory than having 6 with arabic management).
Now, My phone became R1N035 / EUROPE_5 R1L002, because he dont have R1N035 customisation.
The problem now, is that i can't use SEUS anymore to update my phone to real EUROPE_5 because arabic still there.
It download R1N035 EU1, and R1N035 EUROPE_5 but, when it's at the point of starting the flash, when i keep pressing 'c' and put the USB, it wait some seconds the says 'communication error with the phone, remove the batt and try again' but, still the same problem even if i remove the batt and try again.
I'm thinking about a bug concerning java that overflow the phone's internal memory and erase the boot sector.
What to do now the be able to use SEUS again ? I wanna have Europe_5 effective on my phone.
Someone help me ?
(NB. Still having GPRS hanging problem !)

UPDATE FROM FULLFORCE REGARDING FIRMWARE AND THE POSSIBILITY TO GET SE TO FIX IT VIA WARRANTY:
( i have a w800i but i think the same goes for the k750)
I have now spoken to SE call centre in Sweden and they HAVE NOT HEARD A WORD ABOUT COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE FIRMWARE!! I told them to check out forums such as esato and others and see that many people over the globe is pissed off at the crappy firmaware and how SE is handeling these issues. They donīt know when a new firmware will be out (i wonder if they know where they live and how to tie their own shoes) They only said that they will tru to fix it if i return my phone. I told them that the only way to fixi it is to make a new (better?) firmware or take a new completely unflashed phone and flash it with the old firmware.
I also called the service centre, wich the call centre said wasnīt certified wich they are!!!, and told them the same thing. I also told them that i donīt want to turn my phone in and they just sit on it waiting for the new firmware and put that in the phone and then return it to me.
I wonder how and if they think and plan ahead at all in some departments of SE. I would like to be able to endorse SE because iīm from Sweden and 50% of SE is a swedish company...but i canīt do that at this time!
Now iīm going to SE service centre in a atempt to flash it back to the old firmware. Yes i know that most say that you cantīdo that. And if that doesnīt work i will go back tomorrow when the person in charge of the service centre comes back from his vacation. So i probably will turn it in for a warranty repair tomorrow.....sigh.
Iīm not giving in until they fix it! And iīm satisfied if they just put back the old firmware.
